2000 porsche boxster has a buzzing ? noise near the gas cap. this only happens at idle after being driven for a little while once i accelerate the noise goes away

Sounds like a air vent problem.next time it does it loosen the gas cap slowly and you should hear a whoosh of air. Get a new gas cap. If that is not it you have a problem with the fuel emissions tank on the frame or under the hood.

2000 Boxster overheating, blowing coolant out of coolant tank bleeder valve when overheating. This valve seems to stay in the raised position when engine warms up. Also after removing oil cap and covering...


Whatever you do, do not drive. I got the same problem about 4 hours ago and tried to get home. Half way, no oil pressure, overheat, silly noise from the engine.
Take your Boxster to a shop with a truck, you'll save money.

Engine idles up and down from about 500 to 1000 rpms. (2000 porsche boxster 2.7).


sounds like a possible vacuum leak,the computer is trying to correct it by changing the idle.

Son apparently locked the outer gas tank access cover....I don't know how to release it to allow me to refill the gas tank. Please help.


there should be a leaver by driver seat to release if you mean the fuel door if you mean locking cap then a screewdriver with a little force will remove the cap then you will need to replace with new cap
