Question about 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix

1 Answer

I had air pressure sensor problems too.

I took the battery cable off, waited, then put it back on. Now it shows 128 lbs. of pressure on the tires and the starter is sticking when you turn it over. I'm more concerned with the starter obviously, the air pressure is good.

You may need a new battery ...or the starter is gone ....have the starter rebuilt if it's no good

How do i get the low tire light to go out

The problem is likely a bad air pressure sensor.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal cable, disconnect the air pressure sensor relay, and wait ten minutes. Reconnect the relay then the negative battery cable and check it out.

If it's still there, you definitely have a bad air pressure sensor. Figuring out which one is the fun part.

We got the car a few months ago. Low tire pressure light came on during the first cold snap. One tire was couple lbs low. We reset it. Few days later the light came on again. Tires were fine. We reset it....

Hello: If the tires are programmed to the correct position on the truck the the tire that is showing low may have a bad sensor. The battery in the sensor only lasts so long (maintence item) When the light?message comes on is a tire actually low?

My 2008 highlander 4wd tire pressure warning light just went on. Checked tire pressure on all 4 mounted tires found to have 25-26 psi. Inflated it to 30 psi (recommended) and look for the reset button...

turn the key to the on position (not running)
let at least 6 lbs of air out of each tire
put at least 32 lbs of air back in each tire
turn ignition to off
start vehicle and the light and sensors should be reset

Tire pressure light came on. the pressure measured 30 in both front tires, so I put air to make them 32. Both rear measured at 30, but the light comes back on.

The battery might be dying in one of the sensors, despite still giving a pressure reading. You can either go to have the sensors tested to check their battery status, or just wait until the sensor that has the dying battery finally gives out and you have it replaced.

Warning light under the D on the dashboard

This symbol is the tire pressure indicator. If you are running the factory stock tires on the car then inflate your tires to between 36 and 44 lbs. 44 lbs is max pressure so you would be safe running around 38 or 40 lbs. Once you do this then turn your vehical off and restart it. It should reset the sensor and show enough tire pressure to turn the sensor off.

I put air into my two front tires last night. THen my "check right rear tire pressure message comes on when I start the vehicle and the pressure reads 53 lbs even though a manual rire gauge shows 32...

Two things, first try another tire guage, second the sensor is bad. these can cost up to $80.00.
Replace the sensor or ignore the light and keep check on the tire pressure.

2005 toyota highlander, what is the correct tire pressure? Cannot get the air pressure light out after pressing the reset button. What do you suggest. I put 32 lbs of air in the tires

Look on the end of the drivers door or door jam for a sticker that should list the pressures and tire size. I had air removed from my tires and installed nitrogen. It keeps the right level better and doesn't cause the sensors to go bad like air can. $5 a tire at most tire dealers.

Ideal tire pressure 2005 ford ecape limited

the manufactor puts a sticker on the passengers side rear door with recommended tire pressure.if you want a smoother ride then decrease the rear tires by 2 lbs,so if the front is supposed to be 35 lbs,put 33 lbs in the rear.try to keep the 2 rear tires the same exact and the two front the same to keep the tires from wearing un-even..unless you have a air pressure monitor in the system that lets you know when your tires need air, this way feels better. The reason for the difference from front to back in pressure is because of the weight of the engine.
