The transmission cut whenever i stop the car. i put the transmission on D then it looks like N, because the car doesn't move, after 2 or 3 seconds while pushing the gas, it moves normally.. whenever i stop at stop sign, it cuts again and so on. is it a transmission fluid problem or the transmission has to be rebuilt?

Try a transmisson fuild and filter change and have the shift lever looked at. to see if the cable has slipped and is not actually shoingthe gear that it's in.

Auto transmision grinds in reverse, put in dr grinding stops but doesn't move

sounds like it is time to get the transmission rebuilt. usually when they go out you will only have reverse. It sounds like the oil pump has exploded inside the trans. sorry for the bad news

It is a 1998 Olds 88LS. The check engine light was on. The mechanic checked it and there was a code that he said meant "transmission sticking". That code has not since reappeared. I went...

The only way to definitely resolve your problem is to get real time readings on the sensors and controls in the engine management system. That is accomplished with a scan tool; and the scan tool is no better than the mechanic interpreting the data. That said, my guess would be that you have a faulty 0/2 sensor. Occasionally, the torque converter clutch solenoid (TCC solenoid) can stick and cause the torque converter to remain locked up which will stall the engine at stops. That doesn't sound like your problem. The hesitation you're experiencing on accelerating from a stop is a common symptom of a bad 0/2 sensor calling for a too lean fuel mixture. Hope this gets you fixed.

My volvo 850 transmition cut out on me. For a while the arrow on the dash was blinking and it would switch to limp mode. I brought it in to be looked at and they didn't find a problem. Last time it...

Any time the transmission goes into the limp mode, it generates an error code that tells what caused it to go into limp mode. It could be something as simple as a loose connection on a sensor for the transmission computer. The code would explain which sensor was sending the correct signal.
By restarting the car you are resetting the transmission computer, clearing the limp condition.

Transmition does not want to stop moving when brakes applied

Likely the overdrive portion of your torque converter has failed and is not unlocking. A trans shop can tell you lif this is a control solenoid or converter problem. Yes, it is not good for the transmission.

1994 Ford Probe takes 2-3 seconds to move

Bad News, your hydraulic pump on your transmission is wearing out. The only solution is a overhaul. I have a Subaru in the same condition, if you can live with it, do it. Just in case check the transmission fluid level.

Tranny

If the transmission neutralizes when you come to a stop, and will only move by shifting to second gear, then that means that the 1st gear clutch piston is cracked. This is a very common problem with the Windstars. Solution is to have the transmission repaired and have the aluminum piston replaced with an updated piston.
