My timing belt broke but the crank was turned over while trouble shooting how do i set the camshafts so its not out 180 degrees


Should be timing marks on pulleys different on a lot of cars have too find location for your particular model

Set the timing on 1954 packard clipper


On an older engine with lots of miles its is better to set it by using a vacuum gauge it should be steady and smooth between 16 and 19 Hg and if you need to set the dwell of the points use the same thickness as a paper matchbook bout .016in

Eng turn over but will not fire, had check engine


you will need a scanner tow to advanced or checker and have them scann it , or get a little starting fluid and shoot it in the air intake and see if it fires if not you have ign. trouble

have you disabled the computer control for the timing advance when you set the ignition timing. if so check for loose vacumn lines
