Question about Cars & Trucks
The carbon canister is full and is not purging into the engine correctly. You may be able to just replace the purge valve or the whole canister may have to be replaced.

Hey , check your ignition cord from the distributor cap to an ignition box. My blew off and caused the same problem. The connection could be corrorated if not blew off. I had to buy all the spark plug wires to get that exact wire ( only cost 20 dollars for set) but replaced and it fired right up. I also bought spark plugs and tuned it up as well. Thats also easy just remove your front tires and the plugs are right there man. Best 35 dollars I've spent in while.

Is there a service engine light on close to where you read your speedometer? Also evap canisters could be saturated causing gas smell.

If this is a manual transmission the clutch has burned out, it may need to be replaced, if you do not do your own mechanic work I would suggest that you take it to a good local repair shop and have them check it out. If this is an automatic I would still suggest the same, but the actual problem could be more complex. Hope this helps, let me know.
