if a new ECM had blown shortly after replacement, the problem is likely to be in power wiring to ECM.
Check all battery wiring to the BCM/ECM for bad connections and shorts, (shorts, corrosion etc.), and test all voltages to ecm.
Check for short to ground in ckt491 (Orange wire), check for Open or Short to Ground in ckt 526 (Brown wire).

Okay your talking about the control module,this unit sits flat and the coil packs sit atop it, then theres two connectors on one side and another connector on the other side,here are some pictures of it hope this is the right part,there are no coils on this one but the coils sit on top also here are the connecotrs for it, napa auto parts sells them,they are called ignition control module connectors or plugs, hope this helps.013ec37.jpg130fbdb.jpga85fdac.jpgf854f86.jpg

Do you know if it is ECM/PCM or BCM controlled ?
Circuit Description (ECM/PCM Controlled)
Moving the ignition switch to the START position sends a 12-volt signal to the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM) Crank Request circuit. The ECM/PCM verifies that the transmission is in the PARK or NEUTRAL position. With the transmission in Park, voltage flows through the Park/Neutral position switch and feeds the starter relay coil. The PCM then grounds the control circuit of the starter relay. When the starter relay is energized it allows battery positive voltage to the starter solenoid S terminal. On some vehicles the starter will continue to crank the engine with the key released until it starts or the crank command has timed out to prevent excessive heat build up in the starter circuitry or the ECM/PCM receives an engine run flag.
Circuit Description (BCM Controlled)
Moving the ignition to the START position signals the body control module (BCM) that engine crank has been requested. The BCM verifies that theft is not active and sends a serial data message to the powertrain control module (PCM) requesting engine start. The BCM also energizes the RUN/CRANK RELAY. When the RUN/CRANK RELAY switch side closes, and the vehicle is in Park or Neutral or with the clutch is fully depressed, if equipped, supplies voltage to the starter relay coil. The PCM verifies the transmission is in Park or Neutral and the clutch is fully depressed, if equipped. The PCM will then ground the control circuit of the starter relay, closing the switch supplying voltage to the starter solenoid. On some vehicles the starter will continue to crank the engine with the key released until it starts of the crank command has timed out to prevent excessive heat build up in the starter circuitry or the PCM receives an engine run flag.

If you look at the diagram you will see the ignition switch ,when in start it sends B+ voltage to the ECM/PCM or depending on which system or engine to the BCM . When it see's this input it will energize the starter relay located in the under hood fuse box. This happens if the control module in charge see's another input from the PNP- park neutral position sensor and if no anti-theft system problems .

2004 cadillac cts wont start only with relay jump start


What relay ? Starter relay ? Check engine light on ? Do you know how to test power and control circuit at the relay base ? where the relay plugs into ? The PCM - engine computer is suppose to energize that relay , IF it see's a input from the transmission range sensor switch (park or neutral ) or if there are no anti-theft system problems . Pull the relay and look at the bottom (where pins are ) you will see four sets of numbers . 30 & 87 and 85 & 86 .30 should have B+ voltage 87 goes down to the starter solenoid . If you used a piece of wire an jumped those two the starter should crank .(if it's good ) Pin's 86 & 85 - one should have B+ voltage and the other the ECM supply's a ground .

Need a coolant temperature sensor wiring diagram for a 2004 pontiac grand prix gtp


Check engine light on ? The coolant temp sensor is a input to the PCM - engine computer ! All wires come from an go to the PCM . What type of problem are you having ? Maybe able to save you some aggravation an time chasing gremlins . Coolant gauge not working ?
Engine Coolant Temperature Gage
The instrument panel cluster (IPC) displays the engine coolant temperature as determined by the powertrain control module (PCM) or the engine control module (ECM). The IPC receives a serial data message from the PCM/ECM indicating the engine coolant temperature. The engine coolant temperature gage defaults to 100°F (38°C) if there is a malfunction in the engine coolant temperature sensor or the IPC detects a loss of serial data communication with the PCM/ECM.

DTC P1682: Ignition 1 Switch Circuit 2

Circuit/System Description
There are 2 ignition 1 voltage circuits supplied to the engine control module (ECM). The first ignition 1 voltage circuit is provided by the powertrain relay, through a fuse. This ignition 1 voltage circuit supplies power to all the internal ECM circuits associated with the throttle actuator control (TAC) operation. The ignition main relay provides the second ignition 1 voltage circuit to the ECM, through a fuse. This ignition 1 voltage provides power to other internal ECM circuits, except those associated with TAC operation. The ECM continuously monitors the voltage level difference between the two circuits.

Circuit/System Testing
Ignition ON, observe the Ignition 1 Signal and EC Ignition Relay Feedback scan tool parameters to determine which is less than B+.
Ignition OFF, remove the relay that corresponds to the scan tool parameter that is less than B+.
Important: 6 ohms or greater in the circuit/underhood fuse block will cause the DTC to set.
Ignition On, connect a 3A fused jumper wire between B+ and the applicable ignition 1 circuit terminal. Verify that the applicable scan tool parameter displays B+.
? If the applicable scan tool parameter is less than the specified value, test the ignition 1 circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the ECM.
If all circuits test normal, test or replace the applicable relay.

I think the 2004 Accent only came with a 1.6 liter engine as far as I know. In any case below is as much information I have as far as your code including a wiring diagram of that circuit (CMP sensor). The wiring diagram doesn't tell the wire colors but does tell you where the wire goes or what "pin" number it is at the connectors. I included the connectors which is by number and marked the ECM connector for you. I had a picture of the CMP sensor location but not the ECM location but can tell you the ECM connector is located behind the dash fuse panel. Hope this helps....

No fire to one of the coils which supplies 2 plugs engine light on and running on 4 of 6 cly.


Several possibilities. Internal coil failure, wiring or connection problem, computer is not functioning properly to energize the coil pack. Which two cylinders? I gather the Check Engine light scan reveals misfire codes (DTC) P030? and P030?
