HAVE YOU CHECKED FOR ANY TRANSMISSION TROUBLE CODES?, THIS TRANS IS CONTROLLED ELECTRONICALLY, TO CHECK CODES TURN KEY ON AND OFF, ON AND OFF, ON AND OFF AND THEN ON, WAIT A FEW SECONDS FOR CODES TO FLASH VIA THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. ALSO I HAVE SEEN MORE THAN ONE DEFECTIVE REBUILT TRANS, ABOUT ONE IN 100 ARE NO GOOD, SO THAT IS A REAL POSSIBILITY. IN GENERAL THIS TRANS DOESN'T SLIP DUE TO ELECTRICAL CONTROL ISSUES, IT SLIPS FROM LOSS OF PRESSURE TO THE FORWARD CLUTCH PACK, THIS IS CAUSED BY AN "O" RING SEAL GETTING CUT OR OTHERWISE DAMAGED DURING OVERHAUL/REBUILD.

The transmission torque converter is not in
lock-up, as the rpm is too high

Should be about 2,800 tops at 65mph

Hi I have a jeep grand Cherokee 2.7crd when I put it in forward drive or reverse it slips we have put another transfer box in and it's still the same can anybody help thanks

if ur referring to a transfer box then r u saying transfer case the transfer case has nothing to do with the vehicle pulling in two wheel drive but if ur referring to transmission then it sounds like the clutches are slipping or the torque converter is bad

Location of torque converter

your torque converter is located between the engine and transmission, it slips into the trans on the input shaft which drives the pump and bolts to the rear of the engine onto a flywheel which is bolted onto the rear of the crank.

Revving heaps to get moving in first and slipping in other gears. Its a 93 Jeep cherokee automatic

Sounds like a bad transmission that has a problem with the torque converter or worn out clutches in all gears. More likely a bad torque converter, I would guess.

Revving heaps in first to get moving then also revs heaps for little speed say 60kmh in 93 jeep automatic cherokee

transmission slipping!!! May possibly just be low on fluid, could be a bad torque converter, or the transmission itself!!!
Good luck

My transmission shifts really good but when im in overdrive driving a steady 60 its slips just a little and slips back, continues till its hot and quits no more slipping

Torque converter lock up clutch is slipping, not good, Its not that it quits slipping when warm, it quits WORKING when warm and is not even trying to lock up any more. Need to have this repaired right away or severe damage will result. Depending on what year it is depends on what is needed for repair. Up until like 2000 it requires the valve be modified and torque converter replaced, after that its seals and torque converter. Any competent trans shop should be able to repair easily.
