Inertia switch is bad or connections are dirty.

Call the dealer"s service department and ask where the fuel pump cut-off inertia switch is, aquire one and replace it, they don't cost too much, this most likely is the problem part, or purchase a CD service/repair manual at ebay motors they are cheap $15.00 - $20.00 buck and are very useful, there is a component locator in the software along with technical bulletins and recall info that will be of use to you the only problem is is that you must what for it to be delivered. You may want to order a new pig tail plug with that particular harness section or get one from a salvage yard to cover all the bases along with the inertia switch.

2001 Jimmy had fuel pump problems. Replaced fuel pump with after market and fired right up. Week later I stop run into house, then back out completely dead at the key. Replace starter, fires right

I'm a little lost here, but if it will start on starting fluid, the ignition system is working.
Most V-6 GM trucks take at least 65psi of fuel pressure to start. Most aftermarket pumps don't do the job.
I would check the fuel pressure with a gauge next.

I changed my fuel pump because it has 260,000 miles on it and truck would cut off when It got warm. Now it wont start after I replaced pump. What do I need to do to get it to start again?

Did you put at least 5 gallons in the tank so the pump will prime properly? Do you hear the new pump running for 1 second when the key is turned to run? Do this remove the Schrader valve core from the fuel supply rail to the injectors on the engine fuel pressure test port (don't loose it) and repeatedly cycle the key from off to run, do not crank the engine, this will help to prime the electric fuel pump, but have at least 5 gallons in the tank before starting the process. Make sure someone watches the fuel pressure test port so when fuel starts to flow you stop the priming process before everything is covered in gas. Also a fuel pump doesn't cause the system you described, an ignition control module and stator cause that and are a known problem in this year of truck. Another problem is the ignition starter switch comes apart.

Try and turn the ignition over ,and over, then stop, then try and start it,if it starts, then the fuel pump is loosing it`s prime, check the fuel pressure regulator.

Silverado not starting unless prime

There is a check valve in the fuel pump that sounds like it may have gone bad. Check the fuel pressure at the shredder valve, there should be 60 to 65psi during the prime and will drop 5 psi when the engine is running. Once the fuel line is primed, check to see how fast you lose your prime. Since you replaced your injection system, we can eliminate the fuel pressure regulator leaking which was common on the injection system your truck run's on. If the fuel pressure drops fast then it's going to be a bad check valve at the fuel pump and it may be time to replace the fuel pump it self. Good luck and hope this helps. Note: do not try to start the engine with putting gas through the throttle body, it's been know for small fires to start and burn the spider injectors.

I would be looking at fuel pump and the next question would be to check your fuel cap. Does it fail if you was to remove the fuel cap. You may be losing prime this way. If so the purge value in your fuel pump would be bad causing it to lose prime.

89 regal won,t start but after 5 or 10 min. runs great

sounds like your fuel pump is going out. One thought might be that the fuel filter is causing enough resistance to over heat the pump. I would check the fule pressure to determine a free flow of fuel.
