Question about 1999 GMC Jimmy
I have a 99 Jimmy with 120k miles on it. On take off, from a dead stop, the tranny wants to run through all the gears real quick and then drop back down to second and go from there. This causes lot's of jerky, clunking take off's. If I go through the gears manually it is fine. The tranny shop came of with no codes for this problem, they did have a code for the torque converter wanting to lock in and out and causes it to shift in and out of 4th and OD. Any advice or experience with this problem?
You have a mechanical fault in the trans or a poss shift solenoid issue, most tranny shops will road test the truck for free and give you an estimate and prelimiary estimate.
