Question about Pontiac Grand Prix

3 Answers

I have a 97 grand prix. It won't start. It seems that the fuel pump is working. Gas is getting to the regulator. However, I have no spark in the module. I replaced module and one coil because plug was rusty on second coil. However, I am still not getting spark. Spark plugs are good. Getting 12 v across fuses. Any suggestions this one seems like it could be wires or ???. Please help

Check the cam and crank sensors, If no pulse is detected the ECM will not fire the coils. Check your wireing harness at ECM and terminal conectors. Check your ground at coil packs...Last but not least...possible bad ECM.
Good luck...i hope this helps.

Sounds like a faulty crankshaft sensor and/or camshaft sensor. This is a diagnosis and repair job that you might want to leave up to a qualified technician unless you are very mechanically inclined and posess access to the proper tools for the job.

Toyota 4runner sr5 won't start its getting gas and spark.

Sounds like the problem is beyond your ability to diagnose

Too much fuel could be a leaking fuel injector or fuel pressure
regulator.

Too much gas & a no start isn't really the issue

Did it start & run before you did the wires,I would check your work
& mark the wires with a pen & also have diagram on paper before
you start a job like that. Especially when if you have no reference
material.

You put a mechanical fuel pressure gauge on a running engine
& the apply vacuum with a hand pump to regulator to watch for
pressure change,eg: pump pressure vs: regulator press

Check your Fuel pressure, being the car is fuel injected and a 98, odds are it is Sequencial Injection. If the fuel pump doesnt pump the proper amount of pressure the fuel pressure regulator wont give the engine gas.

I HAVE A 2000 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX SE. WHEN I TRY TO START IT IT TURNS OVER BUT SEEMS THERE IS NO GAS GETTING TO THE MOTOR. WHAT COULD IT BE?

Possibly a bad fuel pump or regulator. If not check the Ignition control module that also controls the fuel injectors. Good luck.

yep i seen it in happen .i was at a gas station a guy drove car to the gas station on empty.he fill his tank up .could not get it to crank .some cars you have to restart fuel pump when run out of gas. like chrysler.you use a scanner. but chervrolet you run low over heat damage the pump.it has to stay submerge gas to keep it cool. check fuel pump pressure.it should be 41 - 47 psi.
