My 2004 Honda accord is not starting.

When you turn it over it just making a clicking sound. one click and that is all. The battery is fine. So I am thinking it is the starter. How much is that going to take to fix.

See if you can get someone to locate starter and give it a few taps with a hammer or similar while you are trying to turn it over(avoid hitting plastic end on solenoid or arcing out on power feed),if it starts,it's more than likely that starter needs new brushes.as long as commutator isn't damaged it is a basic job for any mechanic or sparky. But do check first that all leads are tight onto battery posts and clean of any corrosion.

Hi..
The battery has run down flat or the starter has gone bad. check the two.

labor rate is usually around $65/hr

parts are between $95-300

figure on about 2hrs and the price of the part

$135/ labor plus tax
www.partsamerica.com
$140.00 part cost +tax

right around $300 if you have a shop do it

Good luck.

-There are couple thing that cause not to start:
*Before check the following, make sure battery is full of charge.
1. No thing at all. Possible Corrosion battery cable or bad connector or starter relay. (Visual Inspect it) Clean it or tight it
2.Click but never turn or start. Starter has dirty contact or worn out. (Replace W/new one)

Good luck

My 2000 honda accord ex wont start,

Is it a single loud click when you try to start it? Or multiple clicks or "buzz"? If it is a single click heard from the engine, your starter has likely failed. Test the battery first, and inspect the battery cables/connections for any looseness/corrosion.

My 2004 Honda Pilot ran fine then a hour later won't start. At first thought battery so we charged up usig one of those chargers you plug in. Lights flicker, and clicking sounds but won't turn

Check batry terminals are secure & free from corosion, check security of earth strap to engine & main power wire on starter, if ok have the batry load tested to ensure it can perform under load as the starter needs a lot of current. Have you tried a jump start?

It sounds like the battery has a bad cell. Take the battery and have it load tested. I have also had starters go bad without making any noise.

My 2004 accord won't start. Battery is fine and usually when stater goes out you hear a clicking mine makes no noise. When you turn the key it goes from plenty of juice to no juice no sound. What should I...

You said the battery is fine, does that mean you ran a load test on it? If the battery is fine, it could still be the starter I have had a starter just quit before and not make any noise. I have also had wires come loose on the starter and have had the ground get loose and grungy.

The first thing that must be done is to have the engine control computer scanned for fault codes, if none are present check the fuel pressure
