Question about Isuzu Rodeo

2004 Isuzu Rodeo 3.5ltr 4X4 hesitation/misfire acceleration

I've got a 2004 Isuzu Rodeo 3.5ltr 4X4 that had a misfire problem on cylinder 4 (check engine light was on) last October and brought it in and was said to be a the fuel injector. It was fixed under warrenty. I still noticed a hesitation during acceleration, but of course the mechanic didn't notice a problem. Now that I am using the AC I notice a hesitation/misfire more frequently. I have switched to premium gas and injector cleaner every 3000mi. (still hesitates/misfires) CHK engine light is not coming on this time. Gas mileage is bad and was never fixed from replacing injector. Any ideas what next to check?

The upper intake gaskets may be leaking. They are made of plastic and metal and will leak air. Do not remove the cover on very top of manifold when changing.

I have a 1997 Isuzu Rodeo 2.6L cylinders 2 & 3 won't fire after vehicle starts but will fire if I unhook cylinder 1 or 4 what will cause this

USA car? must I GUESS?
so you have 2 coil packs. ????
called wasted park
seems you typed the displacement wrong, !!! 2.2L is 4 banger...
1 and 4 fire as a pair
2 and 3 , fire as a pair , in series

so if the spark wires open , you loose a pair,
say #1 opens, you loose #4 with it.
they are wired in series.
if one spark wire grounds out , you lose only THAT spark plug.
but why would you get the odd pack to pack cross talk.
(assumes you have the HV wired right. correct?)
the packs cant be wired up willly-nillly.
this is the 2.2L coil pack.
and IS wasted SPARK system. for sure.
and can not be mixed up
the PCM is hard coded for 1,3,4,2 firing order.
and must be wired right. did you meddle here?
if you unplug the 2 one right , this must not make the 2 on left work.
pulling 1 wire, only kills the adjacent wire. normal.
see the pairs there, at the bottom see those hiddencoil packs mail coils molded to case?
if you are wired right and you have cross talk from 1/4 to 2/3 bank
the pack is bad.

2004 isuzu rodeo 3.5ltr. Flashing engine light. Cylinder 4 misses on acceleration.

Do not accelerate harshly... have a compression chexk done and see what it reveals...that will inform you regarding the general health of the engine
It may be that you have ring/bore issues

If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.

I know for your car, the ps701 is useful.

If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.

1996 isuzu rodeo keeps reading #2 misfire runs good xcept when cold it hesitates most times or jus occasionally hesitates then the check engine light flashes and its guzzling gas i only got 50 miles on a...

A misfire alarm typically means the coil pack mounted above the sparkplug indicated in the misfire had gone defective.

To test it, swap the coil pack with another cylinder, and see if the misfire goes from #2 to the cylinder you put it on.

If the misfire continues to be on #2, then consider changing the sparkplugs.

I hope this helps.

2004 dodge caravan 2.4 Hesitates during Acceleration and at idele

You should definitely replace the fuel filter though this probably won't fix your hesitation. It wouldn't hurt to replace the spark plugs this is usually the culprit on these engine. I have the same engine in a '99 caravan and found the for some reason the spark plugs on cylinder 3 and 4 loosen up after one year and cause a misfire between 45 and 50 mph under load (when mildly accelerating).

2004 Rodeo Misfire on Cylinder 4

cylinder 4 is on the drivers side it is middle plug goes 2,4,6. it is possible for plug to go bad at mileage. look on the side of plug see if you can see a black mark on side this will be evidence of fire going down side of porcelain also look on plug wire for any trace of arcing. it is most likely a bad plug or wire on cyl 4
