Question about 1987 Mercury Sable

Both turn signals do not work on 87 mercury sable

I just bought this 87 Mercury Sable, and both blinkers (turn signals) are not working on the car. I cannot locate the fuse box to change or check the fuses on the car. PLEASE HELP ASAP!

The fuse block is usually located on the left side under dash or behind a small cover on that side. If the fuses are ok change the signal relay, after that the signal/light switch on the steering column.

It is a 2003 mercury sable. My turn signals don't work at all and I had the bulbs checked and changed and that didn't work. I also had a mechanic to remove the panels under the steering wheel to try and...


The handle that you grab to turn on the signal is part of the switch. It all has to be replaced. It's right under the steering column cover. There are three or four screws on the bottom of the cover, there are usually two screws that hold the switch on to the columnn

The left turn signal doesn't work, howerver rest does


check the blubs and you may have to replace the turn signal switch give these websites a try www.alldatadiy.com and www.autozone.com if all fails stop by your local Mercury dealership in the parts department and they be able to print you off the pictures and diagrams you will need wish you the best of luck Michigan Man.

No power to blinker switch


should be big silver flasher fuse located in the fuse box replace this. Its hard to tell if its bad.

I think that it could be a short somewhere along the circuit. Your front turn indicators, your dash blinkers, and your rear turn indicators are all on one circuit. Maybe a wire rubbed on a piece of metal or got too hot and the plastic housing melted off. Electrical problems are nothing to toy with as they can lead to your car burning to the ground. I'd take it in so a technician can run some tests to determine if there is a short somewhere along the line.

If you have checked Power/Ground, and alls good look toward the Multi-Function Sw. (turn sig.sw) this is where everything get distributed at...as for your power loss when shifting, is it column/floor shifter ???? need to know....
