Want to know what it is?

I'm doing an engine replacement, theres a black box looks like some kind of breather tucks in just beside the thermstat housing & has a couple of hoses connecting to it. Why I ask is my replacement engine doesn't have the hose connections on the block or oil pan, whats this part do & can I just bypass it?

They look the same size as heater hoses, the tank is a small black tank, two hoses attach to it that come from the oil pan & block. Nothing connects to the brake booster, another smaller hose comes in from the air cleaner assy

It is crank case ventalation filter assembly to collect blowby and route it to be burned in the engine system. So your new engine will have a different set up it may be part of air cleaner.

It sounds like it's your MAP sensor or your canister purge control solenoid. Sorry can't help you more, I'm not there. But it's going tobe one of the two. Good luck friend.

Low oil pressure

are you hearing and strange hissing sounds ? check breather pipes all round look for any damaged pipes. some times squeezing them, also check the breather for the auto box.. on auto box clean all the road muck off and then go for a drive and then check it, look all round. do these checks. if nothing is damaged or leaking then you need to check the sensor. it could be clocked up and might just need cleaning. switch is located next to the oil filter. original colour is yellow if replaced it will be black color.

What should the air intake breather look like on a 1996 chevy blazer

Hi there:

An air breather replaces the intake vent hose on your crankcase, which vents the spent gases inside your head out into the atmosphere instead of back into your intake track. This keeps your engine clean and in top condition. Aside from that, air breathers also improve the appearance of your engine bay.

Installation of an air breather is a simple process that takes minutes. Simply remove the hose on your crankcase and replace it with this breather. Most breathers come with a clamp already included.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

I have the usual oil blowing out of the black breather box on my d series Honda turbo... I know about using the intake side of my turbo to get vacuum ... I was wondering if the black box needs to be...

Dear,

please place the rubber hose on the breather box outlet and clamp it above the engine level this will solve the problem and the oil will not get leaked

hope this would solve your problem very well

How do u put oil catch can on 04 rsx

Hi, if this is a modification which you wish to carry out, tou will need to find a suitable container, and fit it in a convenient location in the engine bay. Then fabricate lines from the engine breathers, ie, cam box, engine top end breather and the engine block, oil pan, breathers to the catch tank. Ensure that the catch tank is baffled and has a pressure release . breather fitted to avoid being pressurised and then dunping oil..

Look in a competition car magazine, they will have one listed for your vehicle.

Good luck.

Hi is there another fuse box other than the one on the driver side? thanks its for a 2000 passat turbo

The engine bay has only a couple of fuses and relays in the Engine control unit black box which is located in the plenum chamber beside the brake master cylinder and reservoir! On the passenger side end of the dashboard is a second fusebox if the equipment level is high enough!

Chevy 2-2 engine codes po410 and p1137 i know 1 is secondary air injection and other fuel air metering but book doesnt say xactly what part is and auto parts store cant help

1137 is an o2 sensor code but I would have to look it up to see which one. 410 is a common one. Check the maxi fuse for the sec. air inj pump in the little fuse box tucked into the fender right beside the battery.

I dont know where to find the battery and oil filter

If youre looking at the engine, the oil filter is on the right side of the engine, you have to get to it from the bottom of the van. The battery im not too sure off the top of my head, it should be on the right side as well, possibly tucked away in the back corner.
