2009toyota camry fuel pump has no power. fuses are good still system has no power, I tested it with a volt meter

I would definately check the fuel pump relay, should be located in power distribution box in your vehicle, you may be able to switch it out with a relay of the same type to see if it turns on the fuel pump, but you may need a new fuel pump if this doesn't fix it. Hope this helps.

Your ECU is what acctivates your fuel pump realy. Put the key on the run possition and pull the ecu fuse for a few seconds and reinstall it ans it should accivate your realy for 5 seconds, Good luck.

SOURCE: on my 1994 plymouth voyager the 3 wire harness to fuel pump (blue wire) doesn't have 12 volts; should it? fuel pump quit then worked once when hot-wired with 12 volts. fuse and relay is good.

The wire should not be hot until the relay is triggered. The relay does not get triggered until the ignition key is turned on. It will run for 3-5 seconds or until the system pressure it at max.

Hello;
There is a fuel pump relay used on your truck. Check the wiring diagragm for the location. Then also trace the wiring back to make sure you do not have nicks, cuts, or abrasions on the wire leaking voltage.

How to check the fuel injuctors, on 2000 dodge durango, p0ssible no gas toplugs the reason it wont start


Check fuel line for pressure - there should be something like a bike tire valve on fuel line - press the inner part of it and see if gas spurts out hard. If so you have pressure , a working fuel pump, and gas is reaching the injectors.

Check out the igniter?

My 1998 ford f150 xlt 4x4 V8, engine turns over but will not start, I think the fuel pump fuse is bad,or the reset switch malfunctioned . Any suggestions


What makes you think fuel pump fuse is bad or the reset switch ? ( inertia fuel cut off switch ) Did you test for B+ volt or are you guessing ? Buy yourself DVOM - digital volt ohm meter an test the fuel pump electrical circuit ! Besides fuel there is also an ignition system , is there spark ? There are some good videos on youtube on trouble shooting these systems , also on how to read a wiring diagram ! My new fuel pump only primes when wired direct?


Well you need to get out the DVOM - digital volt ohm meter an check for battery voltage at the fuel pump relay ! if you replaced it you saw the holes it plugs into in the relay / fuse box ? Put you volt meter on the 20 volt scale , hook the black lead to the battery negative or a good engine ground an take the red lead an touch - don't stick it in an spread the terminals . Two of the holes should have battery voltage ,if not check the EEC power relay ! If you find voltage at two holes change the meter to ohms , leave the black connector on a good ground an touch the red to the two holes left , one should be open or OL on the meter , this is the control side from the engine computer . the last hole should show a few ohms resistance , this is down through the wiring to an through the fuel pump to ground . You have two different wiring circuits , control an load side , load side being power to the fuel pump an control side is power an the engine computer supplying a ground energizing the relay closing the contacts in the relay sending battery voltage to the fuel pump. Test don't guess !

02 intrepid anti-theft is going off on the dash


Check the owners manual for how to disarm the security system. They are designed to shut off the starter and fuel pump when the security system has been triggered to prevent theft.

Replaced fuel tank and pump and now car won't start.


no engine stated.
details are based on that..
so is it still the old pump there,
this is very simple
using a volt meter. (the pump has 2 wires, measure across those)
back probe that connector to the pump. 2 pins.

12vdc cranked, if you have 12vdc cranked
but fuel pressure is 0 the pump is gone
no pump runs on 0v, or 6v, its 12vdc there,
i can not understand those fues tests
if the voltage fails to the pump it can be
the power wire or ground wire failing .
do all tests connected, or the readings will be useless.
connected is live testing, under full real conditions
and win. every time.
if ground is tested and rises to 12vdc cranked, ground is bad.
only Ohms laws here,a simple equation.

not sure why your float fails. my guess its bad.
and easy test using ohms, disconnected.
that is another problem.

ill look at your fuse, pretend V6 engine.

the service manual shows
f10 fuse is fuel pump
12vdc both side cranking is a GOOD FUSE.
note all words above.
F10 gets all power from pump relay,
so if you dont crank the relay can be off line
an F10 will be dead.
(the schematic is clear)

here is a facts on all cars, next (pure software in PCM )
  1. pump only runs 3 seconds key on, ,
  2. pump never runs, if not cranked.
  3. run cranked and all run if engine stays running.

see? and varies by year, engine, and even ECU upgrades
so a SAVVY mech always cranks to do tests.
that means its a 2 man job. sorry but that is a reality of working any car until you learn what yours does.
warning have a care here that changes rule 1 to 2, below 20F out door temps, (fun no?)

recap
crank and measure like this.
the pump has 2 wires, red hot, black ground
meter across, pins 1 to2, red back is 12vdc cranked
meter black tests lead (volts) to body perfect metal ground
and meter red lead to pin1 red shows, 12vdc cranked
12vdc means 10 to 12vdc cranked, (battery does that)
then move red test lead to pin 2, black
cranked, 0v, if see 1 volt or ore the ground called.B26 is bad.
if the pump has 12vdc on it, you hear it,
do not run it dry its fuel cooled and fuel lubricated or you wreck it.
if it is heard to run you then see fuel spec fuel pressures.
or its bad. (30psi?)

Fuel pump relay not charging


fuel pump relay is not supost to spark, to check you need a test ligth or a volt meter, doing it your way will cause a fuse to go or worse damage to ECU internal relay controler. check all your fuses and comand signal from ECU.

WHERE IS THE FUEL METER FUSE FOR A 1999 TOYOTA SOLORA


The fuel sender unit and the fuel pump take the power from the EFI fuse.
The fuel gage takes the power from the gage fuse.

Operation: the fuel sender unit has a float device that measure the fuel level and send the measurement in volts to the instrument cluster, the cluster contain the fuel gage.

1995 Toyota Camry fuel problem. Engine turns over but not starting. fuel pump fuses OK. Opened diagnostic box and used wire to jump to +B contact with ignition on. No response.


Along with the fuze, there is also a relay in the system. If the relay is defective you will not have any power to the pump. Best to check for current at the pump connector (near or at the fuel tank) with either a test light or volt meter. If you have power, the pump is bad. if not, check the relay and retest.

Car cuts off when your feet is not on the gas, like when you get to the red light. We've had a tune up.


most of the time you can hear the pump engage.but if you want to be foresure you need to find the fuel pump connector and use a test light or digital volt meter to check for power.the volt meter is better because you will know if it has 12 volts or not enough to run the pump.if you have power and a good ground at the connector you need a pump. if not you need to check all fuses and pump relay.hope this helps. let me know if you need more info.

as long as your volt meter is capable of measuring OHMS you can test wires, find the main power wire to the fuel pump and measure for voltage when you turn the key on(3-4 sec) if power is present at the fuel pump, and the pump don't run, then replace it
