Hi, check the ground at the fuel sending unit at the fuel tank. this wire may be corroded. if the wires are in good condition, replace the fuel sending unit.

Temperature & gas gauge stopped working

The gauges get their ground from two different sources, but share the same source for power.
I would check the back of the instrument cluster for problems in the wiring or connection.

My gas and temp gauge doesnt work. When i turn on the car they spin all the way around. i never know how much gas i have.

This is common on the 03-05 Cavalier instrument clusters, it's caused by failing stepper motors on the cluster's circuit board and can be fixed. Check out this site for more on how to get it repaired - Cavalier gas gauge broken

My horn, Temperature control gauge, have completley stopped working and my speedometer and gas gauge stick from time to time. what can I do to repair these items

This problem should be behind the dashboard, you have the harness plug loose. This plug is right behind the speedometer.

2004 chevy cavalier temperature gauge is all over the place, engeis not overheating, seemsto be running fine

Check your coolant level. If you have air in the lines, the times when there's no coolant in the area of the sensor will make the temp go up rapidly, then it goes back down when coolant hits it again. You need to get the air out of the system, or you WILL have larger issues at hand, like a blown head gasket, cracked head, reduced piston ring sealing, or material transfer from the pistons to the cylinder walls. One other thing that could cause this is a faulty thermostat.

My Temp. gauge is broken

I first filed a complaint with the BBB Autoline. After getting this on record and printing numerous problems with this vehicle and this issue off the internet, I approached my dealership in Memphis where I have my car serviced. Talk ONLY to the service manager.

He was very kind and agreed this should not be happening to a car just out of a warranty. They did a diagnostics test, made sure it was the cluster, and ordered this part. They replaced it for me for only $100 and this included the diagnostics and all labor. Press this issue, they will work with you.
