Probably a vacuum hose. Check all over under the hood. Have it running and listen for a hiss while wiggling hoses around. I ran into the same problem a while back, and it was a cracked hose in about the middle of the intake. Be sure and check the hose to your vacuum pot, too. They are quite often mounted to the under side of the hood, and should ahve a vacuum line running to it.

You mean turn on heat but get Only cold air ?
Is it front heater work and hot?
If so. The heater hose to the rear core is plug. Need to flush it from both direction and make sure is full of coolant (Water).
You should be good to go.

How do your repair the heater in 1998 olds regency? The temperature readout flashes, the temperature gauge on the dash is not working, it blows hot out of one vent on bilevel setting.

Sounds like the heater control unit is going bad. I believe this unit has a digital/vacuum control unit which explains why you are only getting hot out of one vent. Try the salvage yard or ebay for a replacement unit. They are non-repairable...

Driver's side air blowing warm, won't change

Sounds like there is a crack in the vent that leads to the drivers side, and hot air from the engine is leaking through.
