There is a ground #104 that is behind the dryer, it is mounted to a plastic bracket. Check to see if it is a"GOOD" ground. This ground is for the PCM .... I ran into the same problem, this was the issue

2004 ford freestar van starts bucking at 50mph plus?just had tuneup plugs, plugwires fuel& airfilter, new coilpack?

I may be wrong but I had a 2001 Freestar that developed a leaky front seal in the transmission. There was no way for the transmission fluid to leak out on the ground so I didn't find out until it was too late. 4th, (overdrive) gear began to slip leading to a "bucking" sensation between 45 and 50 mph after it shifts in.
I hope I'm wrong because I was told it was a $2,500.00 job. Good luck, Jeff M.

Look in ur 2004 freestar book and find the fuse it should be #9 (PATS FUSE)under the driver dash. Take the fuse out the lil red light on dash will not light anymore and ur van will start and keep the fuse out.

The van starts right up but shuts right back off

you might have a regular key instead of a microchip key. the micro chip key sends the signal to the computer. If you have a regular key it will start and a couple of seconds it will shut off and do it over and over again.
