Does my car have a timing chain,2000 Chrysler 300 M

have to redo to line up the chain and sprockets

The 5.7L Hemi is definitely a chain drive.

ther should be a little freeplay with a chain drive if it is too much though it could throw off the drive cogs , just like a cycle chain

Remove everything on the front of the motor, and change the chain without the crank getting out of time with the cam. If you get it wrong, it will spit motor parts out like a baby burping up.
Best done in a good service shop.
If the car is front wheel drive, double the trouble.

purchase a double-roller/ sprocket chain set !!!! you must replace both sprockets, for cam & crank !!!

The timing is set by the PCM and a user cannot change the timing.

The chrysler 300 has a timing chain instead of a belt. There is no real scheduled replacement time
for the chain,unless the chain is bad or another repair requires the removal of the timing case cover.
And thats a fairly big job. Hope this helps.

There should be plated links on those chains too. There is an index dot in both cams on each head that set at the twelve o'clock position.
