WHEN THE ABS LIGHT IS ON THERE IS A MAFUNCTION IN THE ABS CONTROL SYSTEM OR ONE OF THE SENSORS IN THE SYSTEM, THE MOST COMMON FAULT IS THE INDIVIDUAL WHEEL SPEED SENSORS, IN ORDER TO ID THE ONE PART THAT IS CAUSEING THE LIGHT TO COME ON U MUST HAVE THE SYSTEM TESTED BY A DEALER WITH A SPECIAL DEALER ONLY ABS SCAN TOOL THAT READS THE TROUBLE CODE IN THE SYSTEM TO ID THE PROBLEM

On a 2004 chevy tahoe instrument cluster, the parking brake light is red. Is that due to the overlay or a red bulb.

Possibly the ABS unit, look in your owners manual for the ABS fuse (it's under the hood) unplug it with the key on, shut off key and replug, if the light go's out drive it, the light will probably come back if it does you need a ABS control unit.

Brake and abs light

Check to see if your emergency brake is partially on. Also the abs light goes on when the sensors on the hubs get corroded from salt. They either need to be cleaned or replaced. Mine are on from corrosion from road salt so rather than pay the hefty fee to fix the issue until I can do it myself I just pulled the fuse for ABS in my panel to shut that system off. Perfectly safe to drive without them and not an inspection requirement. Now your abs is probably going on every time you apply the brakes and that is not a good thing!

I have a 2004 gmc yukon xlt I disengaged the TC light so the light stays on all the time I tried to push the light button to re engage it but i believe im not doing some thing right ??? can some one tell...

Most automatic TC systems will turn themselves back on the next time you start the vehicle (which turns the light off). If you pushed the button turning the light on and pushed it again right away and it didn't turn off there's a chance of a blown fuse, if you're lucky enough to still have the owners manual there should be a fuse map in the book telling you which one is for the TC system. Also the book SHOULD have instructions on how to turn it on or off correctly. If you don't have the book you may want to have someone check your fuses for you, unless you are comfortable pulling them one at a time to see if any are blown.

There is a possibility that there is a problem with the TC system. There is a common problem with GM vehicles between 2001 and 2005, there are wires that run out to your wheel bearing hub assembly for the ABS and TC systems, because of the way these wires are run there is a tendency for one or more of the wires to become pinched causing ABS or TC problems, it's a simple fix but may take a professional to locate and repair the damaged wire....

Hope this helps, good luck

Abs light came on while driving and when engine is shut off makes a loud humming sound ? took the fuse out to make hummimg noise go away and now abs light and emergency parking brake are on all the time...

have the abs module checked for codes to find out what the problem is.when the system detects a fault in the system it turns on the abs light and check the e-brake to make sure its all the way off.the humming noise sounds like its coming from the abs hydraulic unit that`s not shutting off.

Replaced rear pads and shoes but abs light is still on. Tracking control is now not functioning correctly. I read the manual and it says if lamp remains lit will not work proberly which inturn disengages...

you can try to bleed the brakes at all the calipers several times until the fluid is clean coming out the bleeder screws.it sounds like when you pushed the pistons back into the calipers you pushed dirt back through the system and has lodged in the abs hydraulic unit causing the light to come on.you say the abs light is still on does this mean it was on before you replaced the brakes.if so then you had a code in the abs controller that should have been checked before and repaired.when the abs sets code it automatically shuts down the traction control and all wheel drive because of the abs light being on.

01 Suburban with abs system. abs light came on

A relay controls the ABS motor. You can trace the wires running to it. The next time you shut the engine off unplug the relay. If that shuts it off get a new relay for the old one will not open its circuit to shut off the motor to the ABS motor

Overdrive contoll button is blinking on 200 f-350 7.2 powerstroke

It sound is if your ABS/Speed sensor is the culpret.  Try this fairly inexpensive repair before you bring it in for a Diagnostic, which can run anywhere from $89.95 & up.  Go to the local ford dealer in your area and ask them for the ABS Sensor in your rear axle differential. The base part number being 9E731. This part runs roughly for about $20.00+ and your own time to replace it.
