SOURCE: how do i change cylinder head sensor and where is it located

if you know engine fairly well the sensor should be pretty easy to spot it will be coming out of the cylinder head and have a wire attached to it although I haven't done much work on those models I wasn't aware they had that type of sensor are you sure your not looking for the temp sending unit? if so you will need to look on the intake manifold or near the water pump either way you may consider buying the sensor first then matching it with the wire/wires coming into it then simply unplug that sensor and unscrew (standard threads) make sure to properly seal the threads on the new one tighten to spec (be careful not to over tighten this component more than likely will thread into aluminum threads) better to be to loose and have to be tightened again than to have to replace a major component

How to access bank 1 sensor 1 3.5 gm motor 2000 olds intrigue

To access Bank 1 Sensor 1 you need to know what it means. Some of what I write you may already know. Every engine that has one cylinder head has one bank. Every engine that has two cylinder heads has two banks. Bank 1 always contains cyl. 1. On this engine, Bank 1 contains cylinders 1-3-5 and Bank 2 contains cylinders 2-4-6. Now lets talk about sensor 1. Each cylinder head has its own catalytic converter and each catalytic convertor has two 02 sensors. The Upsteam 02 sensor is Sensor 1 (the sensor before the CAT). The Downstream 02 sensor is Sensor 2 (sensor after the CAT). You are looking for the Upsteam 02 sensor on bank 1. I'm also proving a video that is similar to what you are working on and will need to do, to access that 02 sensor. Any questions, please write back. Good Luck.

Where is the cylinder head temp sensor

The engine temp sensor is usually in the intake manifold - it has to be in contact with the coolant.

Replacing coolant temperature sensor on 5.4L, where is it located?

its not a true coolant temp sensor. you are looking for cylinder head temp sensor. it is located on the driver's side head, at the front, on the inboard side of the head.

Where is the ect sensor on a 2002 3.8l mustang?

The Engine Coolant Temperature sensor?

Just below the round cap in front of the intake manifold. It's screwed in below the cap at an angle, and the harness is attached at the back of it.

Looks like this,

Has two wires that go to it. Remember to use high temp Red, on the threads of the ECT when you reinstall the new one. Also check the condition of the insulation of those two wires.

(A Ford dealership stated, that it's located at the back of one of the cylinder heads. I'l go with my Mitchells Shop Manual)
