Have a Nissan Navara D40 and car won't start. Thinking it might be the immobiliser, have no lights on the dash showing at all. Tried both sets of keys still nothing. What else can I try?

There ia a knob button on the dash, push the button until spanner icon and the remaining distance to the next service starts flashing. Turn the knob clockwiseto increase the distance remaining to the next service. Then release it and turn off the ignition. This may or may not help ... the video is for the Navara ... not Xterra. But it does show where Nissan "hides" access for a mechanical key to unlock the vehicle.

There are also several references on the web from Nissan owners going through some pain and agony to get into their vehicles ... including someone saying that the trick for the mechanical key to work on some Nissans is to go through several sequences of turning the key back and forth (lock to unlock repeated) ... but not everyone was successful.
Sounds like a convoluted system ... but I guess very secure!
