My 2002 volkswagen beetle

It just had the ecm module replaced now the temp light is blinking

Check your reservoir for coolant up on passenger inner fender if it is low thats why the light is on if it is not remove the small hose off to the inside leave cap off have someone start vehicle run at 2000 or better rpm hold hose over bottle while this is happening if no coolant comes out you need a waterpump

code p1649 refers to CAN data bus, ABS-- no signal==causes--ABS control module trouble /s stored , --wiring--matching resistor in ECM

Check with a VW service centre as it may be a problem in the ECM connected to the ABS control module.

My wife's 2002 Beetle has a check engine light on,


check ignition module, ....... what was the number of the code ? the reason being is that when the misfire affects multiple cylinders other components has to be checked .......cat converter, ign mod,o2 sensors, etc ......

2000 volkswagon beetle epc sensor light on car will not start.... trying but will not turn over. is there any way to get it started...stranded


First of all you need to access the Engine Control Module (ECM) using suitable diagnostic equipment (VAS, VAG-Com, or similar) connected to the data link connector of the car, in order to pull out all DTC's memored. DTC = Diagnostic Trouble Code. Then you will bu full informed about the root cause of the problem, and you will be able to repair & replace bad pieces and reset the ECM. Then the EPC (Electronic Pedal Control) yellow light will turn OFF.
The check engine light (MIL = Malfunction Indicator Lamp):

2000 vw beetle mil light is on

change the ECU./ECM module seems you may have hooked either jumper cables to it? or a battery charger and tried to crank the engine with them still hooked up youe ECm is faulty

PUT NEW ECM IN 2002 NEW BEETLE AND ECM WILL NOT PICK UP FUEL PUMP


new ecm has to be coded to vehicle it is not plug and play item.

From what i read, the flashing temp light means the coolant level is low. Check your coolant reservoir. See this webpage for more information:

Airbag Light


we were just at the ball field today and guy was having the same problem another father at the ball field was a mechanic. and he was telling us to see if it blinks it will blink a code. but ya have to be careful working on any of the conections you dont want to set off the airbags.Not alot of help but maybe point ya in a direction.
