Try cleaning the throttle body butterfly with TB Cleaner.
STP makes a good one.

If it doesn't help - you have a problem with the TBW (throttle by wire)system.
There is a Controller called a ETC (Electric Throttle Controller).
It is a dealer-only part and VERY expensive.

Do a cursory inspection of the floormats first - sometimes they like to bunch up and make the pedal stick.

:D

I have a 1965 ford mustang v6, it has a very tough start and the engine shakes. in order to drive it I had to keep the throttle compressed and in a short distance it begins to smoke and shuts down.

If the smoke is white, you have a blown head gasket. If the smoke is black, you have some bad Piston rings.

What kind of motor oil should i get for a 97 ford

That all depends on where u live and the mileage on the car. In florida we use 10w30 or 10w40 upnorth is diff because of the cold weather. But generally it should be 10w30 the have that in high mileage.

2008 mustang v6 3000 miles on it

I would try to find another car to compare it with to see if it is a normal noise. Don't compare apples to oranges. Make sure to compare with same year, engine, etc. If you have the concern documented while the car is still under warranty, if something should happen later down the road (out of warranty) you'll have a good case to get it repaired under factory warranty. Good Luck

Check the EGR tubes for carbon build up. It's not the fact that the EGR valve keeps going bad, the reason that there it thinks it's malfunctioning is the tubes itself will not allow enough flow. Remove them and clean them out the best you can.
