a blunt tap at the center of the assembly , may start it up,
indicating a bad motor, if not a fuse or power/ground problem.

If you do not run even one level of performance as the needed engine control unit, check fuses! If they are okay, the fan is defective! is a frequent defect no only X5 E53 series

yes it sound like the fuse the fuse some time is the same a the ac fuse your fuse panel should tell you what fuse it is

could be 3 things. The fuse, the motor, or the resistor. Just because it was replaced doesn't mean it won't go bad. It went bad the 1st time. Fuse is more common. As is the resistor, oh and a 4th item...the relay.. Rare for that one to go out though.

If the AC compressor engages, you may want to check on the wirings, it may be loose or a short, the fuse and the control resistor if they are working correctly.

hello euroterry, there should be a fuse listing chart on the iside of the right access cover in the trunk. if I remember correctly the fuse 54 -56 are in the middle of that group of numberd fuses. if there is no label present on the trim cover, you should find the numbers stamped on the fuse strip(numbers are very small, you'll need a flashlight to see them.)

have you checked the relays 3-5-7 these three relays are all a/c relays could be one of these the fuses are f7-f9-f20-f22-f30 all these are a/c related

tom disconnect the battery for 5 minute hook it up and try it if ac work sometime computer shot out you disconnect and it reset the computer it hapen to me on my 98 540 good luck pierre
