Question about 1998 Toyota Corolla
I recently had a new transmission put in my 1994 corolla. Upon picking up my car i found that when idling or driving slowly it makes a very loud rattling noise and the belts seem to squeal. I asked the mechanics about the problem and they assured me that it was nothing to worry about. Despite what they say, I don't believe it. The noise is very loud and disruptive and I would like to fix it. Any suggestions?
It amazes me that they didn't at least address the rattling noise, seeing how they probably caused it. If it is just a belt, that's an easy fix. Did you stop at another shop & ask for a quick diagnosis?
Could be something as simple as a heat shield , or something. Doesn't hurt to have a second opinion, and shouldn't cost anything, or very little, then go back & tell them what the diagnosis was.
