Check and see if there is a short in your trailer plg.if not ,unplug both headlight and see if the fuse blows.if it does the short is in the wireing ,if it does"nt you have a shorted bulb.

You have a dead short some place. Be very careful when you put a heavier fuse in than it calls for. You could burn the car or blow your car computer and cost you a pile of money. Take it to a mechanic as this is a serious problem.

1997 Ford E350 clearance lights don't work

First check the fuse, the clearance lights are not factory in most cases and the wiring gets shorted from poor wiring. Once you replace the fuse see if the lights come on, if the fuse blows right away find the wiring to the clearance lights and disconnect them, if the short goes away it is a I said the wiring is shorted. If you don't have the owner's manual you should be able to download it at the link provided. It should be fuse #10 a 20 AMP in the interior fuse box. http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/catalog/owner_guides/97ecoog1e.pdf

My tail light fuse on my92 s-10 just keeps on blowin and when it blows my tail lights and my inside dash lights doint work, howcome it would b doin that??

Check your tail light and other running light sockets for corrosion.
Pull each and every bulb to check it, also check the back side of the socket.
(Your headlights are not part of this circuit.)
Rust or water with rust will conduct enough current to blow the fuses.
Please revert back to the 20 amp fuse, as you may damage the wires leading to the bulbs in places you won't be able to find or fix.
It's unlikely that it's one of the actual light bulbs, all light bulbs tend to go open instead of shorted, but you can check them too.

It sounds like just the one problem. Your tails and the dash illumination lights are all on the one circuit that the fuse keeps blowing. Don't get confused thinking of another main fuse, just focus on this one circuit..
It is very seldom that a short develops at the fuse box, it certainly can happen from corrosion or loose terminals, but it is rare. More likely is a bad wire just like the one you found near the exhaust. Somewhere very likely a wire has had insulation stripped or scraped off, soon as the wire touches metal it will blow the fuse. Were any other wires damaged in that harness for the speed sensor? Or do you see any wires hanging down from under the truck, anywhere going back to the tail lights?
If you did the stereo yourself, were any wires cut going to the dash? I doubt this as the wire for the dash lights would be in a wiring harness that is like a bundle from under the dash up to the instrument cluster. You just have to keep looking for the short.

MOST VEHICLES HAVE A CIRCUIT BREAKER BUILT IN THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH. OVER TIME THE CIRCUIT BREAKER WILL GET WEAK & IT WILL TURN THE HEADLIGHTS ON & OFF. YOU PROBABLY NEED A NEW SWITCH & THE FUSE BLOWING IN THE TAIL LIGHT CIRCUIT MAY BE A SEPARATE ISSUE.

97 CHEVROLET BLOWS THE TAIL LIGHT AS SOON AS I TURN ON THE HEADLIGHTS.THE SAME FUSE ALSO RUNS THE DASH PANEL LIGHTS.I REPLACED THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH AND HAD NO LUCK ANY IDEAS

you have a short to ground i would remove the tail lamp that is blowing and check the wiring. look for any rubbed off wires and also check the light socket you may find corrision in the socket. Alos check that the lamp doesn't have any cracks in it or is broken causing water intrusion. hope this helps.

Flickering lights on 2001 Chevy tracker

I had similar problems, with dash board lights and headlights flickering, and the problem was a dying alternator. After I changed it, everything got back in normal. Also, a bad alternator eventually will kill your car's battery, too. I hope this will help you.
