Temp. stop working and the ac-off light come on

For strangeness like that you need a good local auto electrician with a pro grade scan tool computer. It sounds like a BCM (body control module) communication issue.

the air con fan comes on with the air con switch. the engine cooling fan comes on when the engine temp. censer reaches operation temp. most times the air through the radiator when driving is enough to keep the censer cool and the fan not working if you stop at lights for any length of time it will come on.

check that the heater control (tap ) is being turned on by the controls.. Have an accredited ac mechanic check the ac system .

there are 2 pressure control switches that control the ac clutch operation. One is to stop the compressor if the head pressure go too high and the other is to stop the compressor if there is not enough gas in the system.. Have a ac mechanic check it out as you may have a leak somewhere.

The ambient temp sensor is related to the AC function, if the HVAC system thinks the outside temp is too low, the AC will not be turned on. You probably have a defective temp. sensor. It is easy to change and relatively inexpensive. It is located on the underside of the top radiator support almost in the center (just to the drivers side of center).
The car dying at a stop light can probably be solved by cleaning the throttle body. Make sure that both the front and rear sides of the throttle body are cleaned. And also disconnect the battery during the cleaning process, this will reset the computer and allow it to relearn to the cleaned throttle body.
The compass issue is another separate issue and may just require a recalibration. I don't know what the procedure is but try Googling the subject.

its low on freion thats why it cuts on and off

indicates gas pressure and condenser cooling problems
check the condenser fan is working properly and have the gas pressures checked by gauges
check that the evaporator fins are clean and not blocked as ice build up will cause the same indications

usaully when a car does that its a vacume hose bad,,

there is no AC temp cut off sensor, it is done (hi engine temp AC cut off) through the PCM (powertrain control module), the PCM uses the signal from the ECT sensor ( engine coolant temperature), if the ECT had a problem the check engine light would be on The most common reason for the ac cutting off is the low pressure cycling switch sticking..
I am a Ford dealer tech and have 20 years in the shop, this answer is 100% correct.

The fuse for the radio/CD/DVD is seperate from the AC/Heat. Open fuse box under hood on right. follow fuse schematic to ac fuse position (note there are two so if not one, then it is the other) use the fuse puller that is in the fuse box, then replace the fuse. Good luck.
