Car will crank but it will not start

Replaced the fuel pump, got a new battery, replaced the coil pack on the motor. Car will run for a few days then won't turn over anymore. When I turn the key to the on position, the security light blinks and the service engine light stays on.

When I put the key in the ignition and turn it to start, it cranks but will not start the car. I'm not sure if it's the security or if it's a sensor.

Car turns over but won't start. battery good, alternator about to be replaced, though alt. has nothing to do with the problem. what next?

it sounds like either your not getting spark, or fuel at the engine. it could be the coil packs/plug wires or the fuel pump/filter its hard to say what to do first. when you get in the car and turn the ignition on to the position just before turning the engine over you should be able to hear the fuel pump kick on in an attempt the prime the fuel system. if you can smell fuel at the engine after cranking for a few seconds its probably getting fuel. if you have access to an ohm meter with a wire clamp you can test each of your plug wires as you crank it to see if your getting spark. each coil pack sends spark through two plug wires. if you cant read a signal from two of the plug wires trace them back to the coil packs and if they go to the same coil pack that coil pack has gone bad. if they go to separate coil packs you may have two coil packs malfunctioning. this is where i would start i hope it helps.

Car not starting it cranks like it is out of gas

The first thing i would do is try to spray the throtlebody with starting fluid and see if it starts up for a few seconds, if it does then we know its fuel and the most common problem with these trucks would be the fuelpump, this sounds like it may need to be replaced, there are problems with the wir connector to pump module , this should be replaced when replacing the pump, this is located inside the fuel tank, the tank will need to be removed to install new pump asm, heres a picture to help you understand what im talking about.

My '93 F250 5.8 l Automatic was turning over slowly when cranking to start. Replaced battery no change; Then after sitting for 2 mo. turning key to start produced only a click and dead gauges (battery...

The battery to starter connection has power.the battery is ok.but there are many other possibilities related to battery and its other connections, the spark plugs, the fuel pump, the fuel itself, the sensors(o2 sensor, maf sensor)the valve(IAC valve, egr valve). Most probably the spark plug, the coil pack and crank shaft sensor. This 3 are not getting power to get the car start.

There are some possibilities which you will have to check in this case:--

1) First of all check the power and voltage to the battery. With meter it will show exact 12 volt if the battery is charged. If the voltage is less get the battery charged at local auto repair shop. If the battery is internally drained and not getting charged then its time to replace the battery.

2) When you crank the car do you see spark coming at the spark plug? If no then its time to check the spark plugs and coil pack. If the spark plugs are not worn out and looks new then its time to check coil pack. The spark plug gets power to spark from coil pack.

3) The other thing to check in this case is the starter solenoid of the car. If the battery is charged and you start the car then it gives power to the starter to start the car. But if starter is faulty or not connected properly then car will not start.

4) The other thing to check in this case is fuel in the car. If there is fuel in the car then check the blockages in the fuel pump if the fuel pump looks proper then check the fuel filter above the fuel pump.

5) If all the above possibilities mentioned above checked out OK/perfect then it's a electrical issue and the wiring's in the car needs to be checked. The car gets power from the battery to get started. so the wires from battery needs to be checked one by one.

Thanks. keep updated for any more can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

2001 Pontiac Grand Am won't crank and I have replaced everything

I am going to go with the assumption that when you say it won't crank you mean it turns over but won't start. If it is a 3100 or 3400 it could be the coil pac modual that sits under the coil pack. Most Autozones and Advance stores have a tester for them so you won't have to repalce something that expensive. If it is a 2.4 you may need the tower that houses the coil packs or even the coil pac modual that sits under the cover on top of the motor. Before you do anything else, spay some ether down the intake while turning over. If it thry to run, then you may have a fuel pump problem. Better than that if you have access to a fuel pressure gauge, check the pressure while you are turning the engine over. Compare it to the recomended presure in section four of a hayes manual.
