Broken motor mounts?

Would you not ask that question at an auto parts store
or go to an inline parts site?

Why not also install yourself?

I don't think a repair shop will appreciate you
walikg in with new parts as they loose the 20% or
more your trying to save.

On a Taurus you replace the motor & transaxle mounts

All of them,I think that is 3 in total.

The mounts are to either side of the motor on the bottom, they look like blocks with rubber in them.

I need to replace the existing starter in my 2003 Ford Taurus wagon. I know that I have to jack the car up in order to remove the old starter. What I don't know, is how many bolts need to be removed...

Because of the Variety of mounting methods there are 2 to 4 bolts that should be visible as you look at the starter itself. Not counting the wiring connections. If this a sideways mounted motor with the Starter mounted on the front of the motor there will be 2 bolts holding it in place. If the motor is mounted regularly with the transmission extending under the vehicle the starter in on the rear of the motor near the firewall and will have up to 4 bolts holding it in place but most likely no more than 3. I would recommend getting a Haynes repair manual on the vehicle for more detailed instruction on removal and installation. This manual or a Chilton's manual are both available at the major Auto Parts stores and are fairly inexpensive.

My rear motor mount on 98 Taurus needs to be repaired looking for step by step instructions

1. need ramps
2. Floor jack and a block of wood to jack motor up after unbolting mount.
3. Unbolt mount. Jack up the side of the motor that you want to remove the mount. Just high enough to get it out and in. The motor will raise high enough.
4. Remove it and replace it with the new one.

I had to replace the same one on a car that I worked on kinda pain in the ****.

I need a step by step guide to changing my power sterring pump on my 1999 ford taurus 3.0 dohc v6

Rather than typing the directions from memory.
The best advice I can you is, stop by the library and
check out a chiltons/moter or mitchells repair manual. Any of these books will give you all the step by steps and diagrams, you will need to do the job.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

My motor mount is broken in my Ford taurus 1998

the worst that could happen is you put enough stress on the front motor mount that will also break, if your not burning out or doing any hard accelerating regularely you shouldt have to worry, on the other hand a junk yard motor mount is dirt cheap and would put your mind at ease

Place a block under motor, jack the motor up until you have clearance to remove top bolt.
