What all have to be taken off and what tools do i need to remove a rear bumper cover from an 2002 Isuzu Axiom

all 4 dead , 4 corners?
and hazard switch turned on , too.
do the 2 lamps cluster fail tool Left/right turn?

check fuses first? marked ( turns, blinker/ signals/)?
most cars today have no such thing, (the old skool blinker modules are gone due to magic of BCM computer is just pure software loops)

I am also working on a 2002 isuzu axiom with the 3.5 engine that also starts for a few seconds then shuts off and will not start back up i did an engine over haul on it, and the engine ran before i removed the engine, did you find the problem?

you may not be necessarily be burning oil but leaking oil. wifes axiom has same problem and hers appears to be leaking at the valve cover. you may need to change a valve cover gasket

There is a tool that can be put together under the passenger rear seat. Looking at the back of the vehicle, directly in the center, just above the bumper, there is a small hole that you can insert the tool into to lower the spare tire.

I just had a garage replace my thermostat on my 2002 Isuzu Axiom. The book calls for 2 hrs labor, no way. iI took the garage more like 5 hrs plus, they ate the additional 3 hrs of labor. Note, the intake manifold must be removed and even then special tools are needed because it is still buried deep down. The garage took pictures ot this one because of how ridiculours Isuzu designed the location.
