93 accord starts but runs only as long as I hold the key in start

93 accord starts but runs only as long as I hold the key in the 'start' position. When released to the 'run' position it dies immediately. I can hear the fuel pump before starting and all accessories do work while in the 'run' position. This happened on/off over the last day or so when starting or sitting at idle.

Maintenance require light is flashing on my 2002 Honda Accord Coupe. What does this mean?

its either due for an oil change or the last place that changed oil did not rest it. If the oil has been changed and is not due than you can reset it.

-with the key in the run position make sure the odometer is displayed.
-turn the key off
-press and hold the trip reset button on the instrument cluster and turn the key to the run position (do not start the vehicle)
-continue to hold the trip reset button until the maintenance light goes out.
-once the light is out let go of the button and start the car. The light should come on for a couple of seconds and then go out.

I changed the battery on my 1996 Honda Accord LX and now the car won't start. I have power, but the LED on the extreme left of the dashboard blinks 3 times repeatedly, the turn indicator sound clicks and...

Do you have a remote door lock? Try clicking your doors open and closed. You can turn the key to the start position three times and re-set the security that way on some Acura/Hondas. My son has had to turn the key to the start position and change the position of the Automatic gear shifter - back and forth. I think it has something to do with the Neutral/Park safety switch on his '93 Legend.
Make sure the ground wire is good. The security and starting circuits depend on a ground wire going to the engine from the battery/transmission area. It may be loose or not getting good contact.
Honda/Acura has kept the old fashion battery post type batteries. Always wire brush the inside of the cable connections and the battery posts.

How do I reset the maintenance required light after general servicing has been done for Honda Accord 2004

On my 99 accord I start with the key in the off position. Hold down the Select/Reset button on the dash panel near the gauges. While holding the button, turn the key to the on position (not starting the car) and wait about 5-10 seconds and it will turn off. You may then release the button and turn the car back to the off position.

I have had this problem on two separate honda accords. Can you keep the engine running if you turn the key to start and then let the key come back just a little? I have had two faulty switches. I could keep the engine running but I had to hold the key between run and start position.

93 chevy pickup won't start unless in neutral

Put the trans in nuetral and see if it starts normal with key. If not, then the ignition swith is suspect. The actual switch is mounted on top of the steering column on the lower end. It is actuated by a rod. the key has no electrical. or your trans linkage needs adjusting. Good luck, Ned-
