Yes remove the wire plug off the front of the compressor near where the belt goes.If it is stuck take a pry bar and un stick it,do not put the wire back on.The clutch is maganetized and the bearings are froze up.Usually this will work. If not You will have to either get one from the junk yard and put it on.Or fix your car the right way.

Due to the age of the vehicle more than likely you should be able to get a new serpentine belt for a non air conditioned car. Providing you have the 3.0 Litre V-6. I Think A/C was standard on all Sables so you would get one for a Ford Taurus. If it is a 3.8 litre V-6 you might not be so lucky.

Timming belt broke from water pump broke while driving car put new water pump on n timming belt but car doesnt start right plus shakes doesnt sound right 2001 neon dodge

Sounds like timing belt not on correctly. Check timing marks are aligned correctly when installing timing belt. This vehicle should have 2-3 marks to be aligned when installing belt.marks should be on cam gear/ crankshaft gear and intermediate shaft if engine is equipped with it.

Help!! Broke a belt on our Jeep Cherokee 4wd 2000. Air cond clutch froze in place need to by pass, what belt do,or can I use

if the ac compressor won't turn even with the engine off,it's not the compressor but the freewheel bearing inside the pulley,
even if the compressor is bad ,changing the bearing will allow the serp belt to turn the pulley.
I'd just change the bearing .

My air conditioner compresser froze up so my belt broke... i got a new belt put on with out the air conditioner pulley bu tnot it makes a squealing noise... How do i fix the noise problem?

First try to see when the belt is off if any pulley has a slight drag to it.But its possible that the belt might not have enough tension.

1996 ford taraus 3.0 with air air froze up. CAN

Many auto parts sell an idler pulley to by pass the a/c compr. will have to get this part, putting a smaller belt will not work cause it will rub on some thing else, also compr will have to be remove for this part to bolt on in it's place.

My car alfa romeo timing belt was cut and valves dameged , after replacing the timing belt and at 3000 rpm check engine comes on and the rpm slow done what is your point of view the problem

If you broke a timing belt while it was running you bent valves and the heads need to be worked on.You probably have a cylinder with no compresion and the computer is sensing it.

Will a broken surptine belt cause a ford diesel not to start

Broken belt in itself will not cause vehicle not to start, as long as the battery has a good charge,

I put a head on a 2004 aveo after the timing belt broke and cant get no compresion iline the timing marks up by the book can i still be a 180 degrees out

Do you have a compression tester. If there is truely no compression you messed up the head big time. If you have compression then yes, you could have not truely been at TDC, but instead like you said, 180 degrees backwards. If the timing chain broke you could have bent valves. Smaller engines have an interference between the piston and valves. When the piston is up the valves must be closed or they will hit. When the chain broke this could have happened.
