Question about 2008 Toyota Yaris Sedan

Rattling noise between 1000-2000 rev....

I have a similar problem with my 2008 Yaris. It started with a rattling noise in 1 and 2nd gear. The dealer tried to fix it, however while waiting for the part, I noticed yet another rattling/gurgling noise when shifting from 2 to 3rd gear. It's a noise on top of the engine noise.
I picket up the car last night after repaires - they told me all problem solved. They have changed something on the console and plastic part under the wipers9on the outside of the car).
Unfortunately I still hear the same noises. The car is under warranty, the dealer said that it's not possible that I can still hear something.
Could that be a problem with shocks, or manual transmition?
I get the feeling that I get "runaround" from the dealer, because I am a woman and have nobody to back me up.
Please, help.

I did take the tech with me for a ride. He agreed with me that there is a faint rattling noise , but they did not fix it. Now they are asking me to come in again and someone else will go for a ride with me.
i am very frustrated with the situation, can't believe they can't diagnose it.

Its a dealer fix problem. Its under warranty take it back and tell them to fix it. If they cant hear this noise then ask to have a tech. ride with you and when u hear it point it out to the tech.

Noises and such are difficult to diagnose. Some are common and others not so common. Obviously they have looked at all the common areas such as front suspension rubber bushings and the likes and are not able to find anything. Sometimes its a simple as moving a cable or hose away from the engine or firewall area. Have patience and eventually it will be solved. I know and understand how you feel as I have felt that way many a time on my own vehicles.

Rattling noise at low rpm

I take it that this is not stock exhaust, you mentio ed flex. If this is the case you will need to completely isolate the exhaust from all other components using rubber hangers. There can be NO contact with metal on metal, or you will get vibrations. Let me know if further assistance is needed.

Rattling noise sportage 2008

Sorry for the late reply but, no, it is not related to a loose heat shield. It is a louder rattling sound more like a loose bearing vibrating inside either the transmission or the clutch assembly. Only between 1600 and 1900 rpm. and it is not present under ou over these rpm. The rattle desappear when I lock the 4X4. Dealer is out of solution!!

Could be a long list of things.
A mechanic would take a test drive and listen under different conditions.
Causes could include transaxle problems, exhaust rattles, worn motor mounts, even valves in the engine.
The difference in idle and moving is a load on the engine and transaxle and the engine shifting position.

2005 Toyota Echo. front end noise (rattling/rumbling) when I am stopped at a light.

I had this on my 2002 Yaris, with 103,000 miles on the clock. I found that the rear engine mounting rubber bush was partly torn and the charcoal cannister was loose (not inserted in bracket properly). I installed a used rear engine mount off e-bay, straightened the cannister bracket and inserted it properly. Knocking noise at low revs now sorted.

My new toyota yaris dashboard is rattling. help!!!!

This is some work that needs your first hand observations.
You must take the car to a difficult rrough road to simulate the noise/rattle , identily if within the dash or if the vibration is a transfer from the steering section or the suspension.
Make someone drive while you observe, identily and find the rattle point to tighten or replace the part.

If the rattling changes with the revs of the engine, it might be that the valve compensators are either worn or not getting enough lubrication. 20V engines have quite small oil passages travelling to the head. They tend to clog up with gunk if the oil change is not frequent enough.
