Not enough Fuel Comming From injectors

I have a Chevy S-10 4.3l V6. I recently replaced the fuel pump and Relay, New Filter and injectors.. It gets gas to the injectors but it is not enough to actually start the motor. It will start if I pump the gas constantly but once it is started I have to keep pumping the gas... If I push the petal to the floor it trys to die and if I try and let it Idle it dies... but as long as i constantly pump it, it will stay running. What should I look at next Thanks.

Did you run diagnostics on your truck? a code would be helpful. Now lets see. From my experience if you have to do all of this, your ECM is probably bad.And sometimes the best diagnostian can't figure this out.I would change the computer, get one from the junk yard with matching numbers, will work just as good as a new one,and you will not continue to increase your cost much.

By replacing the relay do you mean the fuel pressure relay? That could be your problem. Also, is your gas cap on tight? Is the gas cap in good shape? Most fuel injected vehicles need to have a pressurized fuel system. So a bad or loose gas cap will cause that problem, also.

Late start after head service and injector replacement, already code the injector. it will just start and stop for few crank. n finally start

Hi Ashneel

Sounds like you've had head (gasket) service, and replaced the injector(s), and are getting more injector codes. If you have a code reader (they're pretty cheap on eBay), you can get more particulars. However, you're getting an injector code with a new injector? I'd then suspect:
  1. The fuel system upstream of the injector.
  2. The electronics connecting to the injector.

Hopefully there would have been some basic tune-up work done in conjunction with the head and injector work, but...
  • If the fuel filter hasn't been replaced recently, consider replacing it. A clogged filter can starve the injector for enough gas to inject.
  • How old is the fuel pump? It clearly is working, but if it's on it's last legs and not pumping like it ought to be, again you can be starved for fuel.
  • Have you refilled your gas since the work? It's possible you got batch of suspect gas. You might consider dumping a bottle of Octane boost in to see if things run better (or well enough to burn off the old gas).
  • Your electronic ignition system (or distributor if the vehicle is of that era) controls the coordination of fuel, spark, and crankshaft position. Check the wiring to the injectors at both ends to make sure there's not a loose connection or cable patch. Check the fuse and or relay for the fuel pump and EIS.
It's also possible that fuel is a red herring, and you might have a really dirty air filter, or fouled/poorly connected spark plugs.

Hoping this helps you narrow it down!

93 chevy caprice classic fuel pump relay

i would think if it were the relay you wouldn't hear the pump come on. I would unhook the fuel line just past the fuel filter. turn the key on long enough to see if the pump is pumping and is it getting past the filter. if it is you can rule out a possible clogged filter and you know the pump is pumping. I would then start looking for a clog. or locate the relay take it to the part store and get a new one. the problem is the relay only relays electrical signal to the pump that turns it on and off etc it doesn't tell it to pump or not pump gas so if you can hear it running it's not the relay

I have a 1999 chevy blazer that will turn over but won't start. prime with fuel runs untill it runs out. have code of p1351 in it

Need more info.......It could be the injectors are not pulsating...Check to see if it is spraying fuel from the injectors....If not it should be a clogged fuel filter or a fuel pump....It is almost definite though that it is the fuel pump/sending unit in the tank ...IF it is not spraying from injectors....
Disconnect battery remove main fuel line going in the fuel filter under vehicle frame at drivers side..with drain pan under it of course...Reconnect battery turn engine over and watch for fuel...
You will need an assistant...Most people think fuel is under great pressure but it is not.....If everything works the fuel will come out in a stream...But it wont come out like a bullet...
If fuel comes out Fuel pump in tank is good...Then your problem is at the injectors ...I would change the filter of course anyway...unless you just have...You will see rusty dirt come out of it if it is clogged...It is always good to change fuel filter every 15,ooo....Todays fuel is terrible...I would first check or swap fuel relay with a new relay or identical relay in fuse power block ...Make sure they are all good....................What engine and how many miles ? Hope this helps....Metalpoet

I'd put more fuel in it and see what happens. But I'm going to guess that you are having a problem with your injector. These cpi systems are notorisous(<spelling?) for problems.
