If you jumped the car placing the black to the battery not the trunk latch there is a good chance you could have blown the relays. Been there and done that exact problem, i fixed it by replacing the window switch (relay is licated inside) and the relays on both seats.

I am looking for a fuse box layout for a 1998 jaguar xj6 as i need to find the fuse for the cigarette lighter

The fuse for cigarette lighters is number 9 = F9 (20A).
The fuse box / relay plate (fascia 1) is located inside the car under rear left seat 1 for Right Hand Drive (RHD) cars.
The fuse box (fascia 1) layout is:

1. F1 (10A) = Rear fog lamps
2. F2 (10A) = Heated mirrors, panel lamps rheostat
3. F3 (20A) = RH seat motors
4. F4 (20A) = LH seat motors
5. F5 (10A) = Instruments
6. F6 (5A) = Seat control modules, low power door switches, mirror motors
7. F7 (30A) = ABS pump
8. F8 (10A) = LH indicators / repeater lamps
9. F9 (20A) = Cigarette lighters
10. F10 (5A) = Cruise control
11. F11 (20A) = LH A/C blower motor
12. F12 (5A) = Instruments
13. F13 (15A) = Steering column adjustment
14. F14 (10A) = Automatic Transmission (AT) ignition supply
15. F15 (30A) = LH electric windows
16. F16 (5A) = ABS ignition supply
17. F17 (10A) = Electrochromic mirror, reverse lamps
18. F18 (10A) = A/C supply

Please rate my response. Thanks!

My power windows won't work. I checked fuses

The relays for the power windows are part of the switch assemblies. 1 relay for up and 1 for down in each switch. I don't think there are any relays for the mirrors, but if there are I think they would also be in the switch panel.

Pull off the door panel and check for power at the window motor and then trace back from there. Most likely cause is broken/loose wiring or connectors.

If you are getting power to the window motor, the gear assembly may be seized, but this is unusual on a drivers door. The gear assembly can be removed from the motor and coaxed back into working order with lots of penetrating oil and a suitable spanner on the cog.

Jaguar xJ6 X300 The electric seat has stopped working . I can hear the two relays clicking on the left hand side of the driver chair so assume the fuse is ok . Any ideas on how to fix it .?

the motors stick ( freeze ) i have heard that disconect the battery for an hour helps with this, and you may need to reprogram everything after..

Open the boot lid and drivers door, and switch on the ignition. Rock the valet switch, in the centre console, 5 times. The system will chirp to indicate it has entered learning mode.

On models with seat/mirror/steering wheel memory functions, the first remote will be linked to memory 1, second to memory 2 etc.

Press the larger, lock, button of the remote. The system will chirp to confirm it has got the signal. If it doesn't receive any signals for 15 seconds, it will chirp twice and exit learn mode.

To programme further remotes, rock the valet switch once. The system will chirp twice for remote number two, three times for number three etc, then press the lock button of the remote as above.

When finish, wait 15 seconds for the system to time out and chirp twice, turn off the ignition, close the doors and boot lid and the job is done!

Fuel failure not getting fuel

Jaguar has an inertial sensing fuel pump cut off relay. It is supposed to be behind one of the panels next to your feet, in the front seat. It has a rod that sticks out, that has to be depressed back in. But sometimes there is also a complex procedure you have to do with the ignition switch as well. The dealer will give you the details for free if you call them.

1995 jaguar driver seat won't move.

You might want to try disconnecting the negative battery cable for 5 minutes and then reconnecting it. This procedure fixed my seat that was not working. It works fine now. I know it sounds too good to be true but it usually works
