I have a 2006 crv where the radio and cassette works fine but cd doesn't play. even when you push the cd button the display doesn't change to cd mode. any ideas what can be wrong

You can insert a cd and eject it fine but it just won't play and the display will go back to radio mode. i opened up the box, cleaned the lenses and made sure the button is mechanically functioning properly.

SOURCE: 2007 CRV AM/FM radio works fine but CD player does'nt work

Sounds like the CD changer is defective, sometimes the dealer will offer a "one time goodwill" repair when it is out of warranty for miles but not for the time period. Check with the dealer where you purchased the car.

How to insert the code for the radio of my golf3 /1996

ENTERING SECURITY CODE

Most vehicles are equipped with Heidelberg V or VI radios that are equipped with a theft protection program. When the battery has been is disconnected or if the radio has been removed, the radio will lock-up electronically and cannot be operated until the security code is entered. On the Heidelberg V, if the proper code is not entered in six attempts, the radio will lock-up permanently and cannot be repaired. On the Heidelberg VI, two incorrect attempts will lock the radio for about 1 hour.
The Heidelberg V may have a code assigned at the factory or a personal code created by the owner. The Hiedelberg VI has a code assigned at the factory and entered by the dealer during pre-delivery inspection. New radios come with the code printed on a sticker but not entered into memory. All codes are 4 digits. To code the radio:
Heidelberg V

  1. Turn the radio ON . The radio should display the word SAF. DO NOT attempt to eject a cassette with the radio in this mode.
  2. Push the AM/FM and SCAN buttons at the same time and hold them until the display changes, then release them immediately. The number 1000 will appear for about 3 seconds, then the display will go blank. Release the buttons then.

NOTE If the buttons are held too long, the radio will interpret this as an attempt to enter an incorrect code.
  1. Use the first four station selector buttons to enter the code. The first digit of the code is always 1. Each time the other buttons are pushed, the number in that position will change.
  2. When the code appears correctly in the display, push the AM/FM and SCAN buttons at the same time. When the radio plays and displays a frequency, release the buttons.
  3. If the code was entered incorrectly three times, momentarily disconnect the battery and try again. If the code is entered incorrectly three more times, the radio cannot be coded and cannot be repaired.

Heidelberg VI

  2. Push the AM/FM and SCAN buttons at the same time and hold them until the display changes, then release them immediately. The number 1000 will appear and remain in the display.

[email protected], 2006 malibu cd player keeps the cd, doesn't eject or take the cd, but plays fine. Is there a part I can replace myself?

Is it a burned CD-R? I know (this is probably the same on a 2006) that on my 2005 if you put one in, it will play fine then lock the disc in. There is a fuse pannel on the passenger side on the center of the console towards the front of the car. Just pull the plastic cover off. Find the 10A fuse by the little grey box, and a blue and white circle. (or just look for the fuse labled "RADIO" on the map inside the plastic cover and then locate it in the fuse box). Turn the key off, pull the fuse, turn the key back on for a sec and the radio will not come on. turn the key off, put the fuse back in and turn the key on. the disc should either come out or you will have to push eject. This may or may not work, some people say it doesn't work for them. (this may reset the radio number buttons memory). Hope this helps!

Mode button unresponsive in my 2006 dodge dakota radio.

After sitting all day in the parking lot at work, I started the truck to go home and everything seemed back to normal. There must be some sort of time related reset. I have not tried pushing the MODE button again and probably won't until I need to.
