Hard time starting the car

I have a hard time starting my 89 240sx car. it is like there is not enough juice to crank the motor over, and when I do the engine just dies. I don't know where to check first and trouble shoot. plugs? injectors? fuel pump? filter?

Plugs and injectors will not cause this problem,i would look at the pupm and and the flexible connector pipe from the pump to the sender unit head ,also check the wires and the multiplug connector on top of the sender unit.1989 with fuel injection?? must a californian model

Ran 03 saturn vue into mud hole and it died and when i tried to crank it back up it wouldnt start the motor turned over but it felt like the starter didnt have enough juice to crank it

you may be hydro locked. pull your air filter and see if it's full of water. then pull your spark plugs and turn the engine over. see if you blow any water out of the cylinders. if you didn't damage it, you should be able to get it started with a new filter and spark plugs.

97 chevy blazer isn't getting enough juice to start

You may have a dying cell in the battery. It will charge and seem OK but won't stay charged for long. Try a load test of the battery

1966 ford pickup 352 motor turns over but acts as if the battery is dieing has new starter battery, cylanoid and wires

Battery may not have enough cranking amps to turn it over. Those old fords need at least 800 cca and to be fully charged. Keep in mind that not all new starters (parts in general) are always good. Make sure nothing else is drawing a bunch of juice from the battery at the same time. Like an aftermarket stereo for instance.

When i turn the key to start the car,all the elec. cuts the same time it makes as a clicking noise.

Dead battery, charge it or buy a new one or jump it. You have enough juice to play radio and lights, but you dont have the cranking amps to turn the motor over. Thats why it clicks

2000 esteem vehicle just would not crank over, change plugs and still no response.

I find I have a similar problem with my Suzuki Esteem, that I'm trying to fix right now. I'm not an expert, but I believe it could be one of the following...

a) the contacts in the starter motor are worn out, therefore I'm not getting a surge in power that's needed to start the engine.

b) If I let my car sit overnight for twelve hours or so, it has a hard time turning over, the battery could be power-draining overnight (it might need to be replaced). I find it's starts easier when I unplug my accessories from the power adapter before I leave the vehicle.

c) The alternator is not charging the battery properly, which means the engine will have a hard time getting enough juice to turn over.

The first time this problem happened I recharged the battery for 20 minutes. I only ever had to do that once. Often it will start without jumping it if you just hold the key forward until the engine catches (takes about 5 seconds). I know that is a bandaid solution, pretty soon I'll have enough time to actually get find out what's going on.

I hope I may have been able to share some insight, let me know if you found any solution to it. I'll post my solution when I figure it out

2002 impala intermitenly wont start

I would clean the battery connecters or possibly change them. How old is the battery? sometimes when battery get old, they have enough juice to crank the motor but not enough to start it..But then again, if it doesn't crank at all sometimes, it could certainly be a bad or loose battery terminals..Start with this since its the simplest and easiest and could very well be your problem. hope this helps

E46 323 1999 WONT START

how old is your battery? sounds like not enough juice from the battery to crank the starter motor. next time it happens, have someone jump you (or use a battery jumping box) to see if it will now crank. if it does, then battery is too old and should be replaced. good luck

have local auto parts store check the battery, it may have a couple bad cells, which would reduce cranking amps... would still have enough to run lights etc., but just not enough juice to start the car...
