Question about 1987 Mercedes-Benz Mercedes Benz 190 Class
I have a 1989 mercedes 190d 2.5. the fan belt is constantly squeeling during dry weather i have sprayed with wd40 which stops it for a few miles. i have noticed the tensioner is slight off straight is this the reason or do i need just a new belt...thanks simon
Correct me if I am wrong, as I understand it, the tensioner position is of. It may be the source of the noise or the tension is off and you may need adjustment. If adjusting the belt does not fix it have the tensioner checked out. If all checked ok, there might be a pulley that the belt goes to that is causing the sound, probably because of worn out bearings.
