Question about 2002 Acura MDX

1 Answer

The front blower fan for the AC on a 2002 MDX just went out. Checked voltage at fan plug and it read 14 plus volts. Dropped and tested fan motor direct to battery and it worked. Tried plugging it back and motor would just **** slightly at like one second intervals. What could be the problem.

Bad resistor network or bad ground.

2010 DODGE caravan a/c blower fan inop have replaced reistor and control head rear fan works have checked all relays and fuses

Hi Jim, I will try my best to help you. First off, let see what we are losing at the blower motor. Three things I want you to do. #1-With a multi-meter check the power side at the blower motor connector and see if you have a full 12 volts. #2-With a test light hooked to the battery positive terminal, check the ground side at the blower motor connector to see if you have a good ground, the test light should be good and bright. #3-With the multi-meter set on ohm's check across the actual blower motor connector a resistance reading of up too 7 ohms is OK, but if you have a reading above like 14 to 22 ohms then replace the motor. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Jim!

1983 Chevrolet C10 Silverado: The AC compressor and heater blower motor fan will not come on.

The brown wire at the speed switch is the power wire. Powers is then directed to the blower motor resistor throught the orange, lt blue and yellows wires. The blower motor receives power through the orange wire. Check for power at the fuse with the key on. If there is no power the problem could be the ignition switch or the wiring in between the switch and the fuse block

is system fully charged with freon? also check the voltage on the pressure transducer. this sensor may be bad and showing low voltage and disabling the a/c system.

2004 acura mdx. turn on air conditioner - no air blows from front. rear air blows, but not cool. cannot hear compressor coming on. checked fuses - they look okay.

I have the same problem with my MDX. I live in the Bahamas and there are no Acura dealerships here. I had two mechanics look at it and they could not fix the problem, so I took matters into my own hands. After checking for blown fuses I did a self diagnosis on the climate control panel, I got a DTC that related to a fault in the blower motor circuit. I went through the step by step diagnosis of the circuit and found that the blower motor was faulty. Acura's climate control has a couple sensor that monitor the blower speed, if the sensor do not detect that the blower is running they will not allow the compressor to run, in essence the rear blower will run but the system will not cool. You may need to replace the blower. The quickest way to check if the blower is faulty is to pull the connector off the blower, turn the iignition on and the ac system on, You should get battery voltage on the connector. If you have battery voltage at the connector and the fan doesn't run the youv'e solved the problem. If you don't have voltage at the connector with the ignition switch on and the ac system on you problem could be the front blower power transistor. If you need diagrams and how to retrieve self diagnostic DTC contact me: engineeredelectric@gmail.com

Front blower for ac is not working. what could be

Disconnect the blower motor connector behind the glovebox. Using a test light check for power to plug with the a/c fan switch on. If you have power on the plug then the motor has gone out. Make sure that all connections are connected. Hope this will help you.

My heat and AC fan wont come on and all the fuses are fine

What I would do is pull the fan blower motor speed switch, plug the wires back into it while you're holding it in your hand, run the car, and check with a multitester and see if you are getting voltage at the switch. Should be something like:
High=12-14 volts
MHi=8-10 volts
MLo=4-6 volts
Low=2-4 volts
OFF=no voltage

If you get voltage but the fan still doesn't work, then it's either a bad ground, or the motor is bad. If you can access the blower motor wire connections(sometimes its easier to try this with it removed from the vehicle), then you could try jumping the blower motor at the wiring connection with a known good 12 volt source, and if you STILL can't get the motor to spin then it's seized up or it's just a bad motor. If you have the motor removed, try spinning the squirrel cage by hand. Is it stiff? Seized? Probably need a new one if it doesn't spin freely by hand.

Hope this helps!

Heater fan will not come on when it switched on.

locate your blower motor.probably under dash rh side, possibly under hood fire wall area pass. side. unplug connector to blower motor.if older style with one wire check for source voltage present at wire, source voltage meaning voltage present at connector should equal batt. voltage.if connector has 2 wires place multimeter on DC volts across both terminals and reading should equal source with fan switch on high.

2002 CHRYSLER T&C FRONT BLOWER NOT WORKING ON ANY SETTING

I had the same thing happen today except rear control works period (no conditions). I am going to test the leads to the front blower first while on. If voltage is there, then I will check the motor brushes - could be a cheap easy fix (~$6 + time). Alternatively you could replace the motor ($50+ plus time). If no voltage there then it is probably electronics.

It could be a resistor(s) but I believe it is unlikely that *all* the resistors would go at the same time.
