1999 gmc safari doesnt have a spark

My van just suddenly stopped, so we replaced the distributor, cap, rotor, timing chain, water pump. Now it wont start. When you open ignition key you can hear the fuel pump barely, not like it was before. the battery is new. we aligned the arrows for the timing chain. we tried different sensors and coils and it still don't work.

My Gmc safari van will not run. It will turn but no fire.

It very well could be the rotor or cap isn't secure. The rotor should have spun until it was seated. It's also common for the cap to clip into place but not be properly seated. This would prevent spark which would be your issue with the van not firing up.

Have a 2000 gmc safari van 4.3, the distributor gears were worn, replaced the gear on the shaft, went to reinstall distributor now engine will not crank over. Is the only way to get the timing back is to...

Yes.But first go ahead and do this, then take your distributor cap off and see where the rotor buttom is pointing, you may have it 180 degrees off. So make sure when you do this that the rotor button points at #1 spark plug wire, when the distributor is fully seated.

hi...
1.try checking the clearance in the spark plug if you have insufficient or more clearance you wont get spark check this.
2.check the wire coming to the spark plug.if power is not coming to spark plug there wil be discontinuity in the wire try replace it.

1999 safari van 4.3 6 cyl. has a service code PO

P0301 is a DTC code that indicates a misfire to cylinder one. It could be a bad spark plug, spark plug wire, rotor and cap, a dirty fuel injector, or the worst a bad head gasket. Cylinder 1 is the first cylinder on the drivers side, towards the front. Start with the simple and check the spark plug wire and add fuel injector cleaner to the gas tank. Good luck and hope this helps you get you van running 100% soon. If that did not help, then your going to have to do a tune up by replacing the spark plugs, wires and rotor and cap. You can get all the parts you need at Auto Zone and they can give you the step by step to get the job done with common tools in under 2 hours of your time. Keep me posted, be glad to know you got your van running 100% again soon.
