When the 'check engine' light comes on it usually indicates that your engine needs servicing. It could mean that one of the sensors on the engine is not working properly, but it does not mean that you need a new engine.

I suggest that you take your car in to a local mechanic who you know and or trust, and have the mechanic diagnose the problem.
Good luck!

Does not mean you need a new engine, it mean's the the ECM, the car's engine management system has detected a issue that caused your engine to stop running. Have the car scanned for the DTC code which would indicate the issue that needs to be addressed to have the engine run 100% again. It could be as simple as a dirty fuel filter that needs to be replaced. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to answer any questions you may have.

Hi, r15v2 2013model/eng turning but not starting. eng warning lights showing- eng light blinks 4times slow then8times fast, what does that mean?

According to a post on Fixya, the engine warning light blinking 4 times slowly followed by 8 times quickly is a sign of a throttle position sensor malfunction. The post also suggests that the engine not starting could be due to a fuel pump malfunction or a faulty spark plug.

Truck will start but engine dies and service engine soon light comes on/truck was idleing fine for 10 minutes then began to hesitate then shut off when first happened

When the engine dies the Check eng light is supposed to come on. You need to do a fault code test on the OBD2 engine control module.

Keeps trying to die when you push the brake or turn on the ac or heat?

sounds like you have a broken ground wire, check passenger side og engine towards back of eng. Should have a groung wire from eng to firewall and ground from firewall to frame, if one of these is broken (rusted through) it will cause the problem you are having because when you apply brakes or turn on heat/ac it takes away ground for eng.

Check eng light came on eng stalled it was 98 degrees outside

You'll have to figure out if it is a fuel or ignition problem.
Is the check engine light on before the engine dies ?
It can run in 125 degree temp so there is a problem that may have been made worse by the 98 degree weather.
My first guess would be the idle control motor or valve if it has one.

2003 mitsubishi outlander died at stop light. wont start. turns over and has a full tank of gas. is getting fuel to engine.

very poss it could be crank sensor ,broken wire ? timing belt? advise installing scan tool that reads live data check eng rpm on scan tool see if shows eng rpm while cranking , poss remove upper timing belt cover make sure is turning and not damaged, poss computer related problem or power to eng systems would have to check for power at fuel injs and check for ground pulse with logic probe or led test light if crank sensor ok also check for spark at plugs with special plug tester and check codes first

Toyota Camry 1998 dashboard light on

yes, that is called a "check eng" light, this may have came on for many different reasons, low eng oil level, low eng. oil pressure, eng. may be misfireing, eng. may be overheating etc. many things can cause this. get hold of a diagnostic scanner and scan for codes. or take it to any shop. theyll scan for you

Propane test on eng.

Your mechanic did a good test by externally adding more fuel to the engine. The fact that the addition of the extra fuel to the engine changed the engines behavior would suggest he is on the right track.

Engine coolant temp interm

the engine coolant tempurature sensor may be failing, the reason why truck stalls when light comes on is that the pcm thinks there is still a problem, then shuts down. after replacing sensor erase problem code with a obd2 scanner. if you do not have access to 1 you can go to any auto parts store and they will turn light off for free.
