I own a 2003 Chevrolet Express 3500 car...
I own a 2003 Chevrolet Express 3500 cargo van. The check engine light came on and the local hardware store, break out box indicates that the knock sensor circuit is the problem, bank 2. Which side of the engine is bank 2? To change the knock sensor, do I need a special tool? Where is the knock sensor located?

OK, bank2 is the side where the #2 piston is on. Usually its the pasanger side. To be sure open the hood and see which cylinder head is more forward than the other. the cylinder head set back is the bank 2 side. The knock sensor is located on the bank side of the block. You dont need a special tool. only a wrench. Make sure you clear all codes after installation of sensor.
