Question about 2005 Ford Five Hundred
2005 ford 500 - has anyone had a problem with the check engine light.check transmission light. Dealer says they are not sure what this means!
Seems that everything is pointing to the throttle sensor except for P1576 which has no definition. Good luck Moe

Try removing the negative battery terminal, after a hour replug. hey... it dosn't cost anything. it might just be a stray signal

I have had this same problem since ~ 44K miles. Dealer says need a new trans, bu after i shut the car off, it runs fine...ad sometimes for months without the wrench light and trans messages popping up. I looked on the ford site and they show a tech bulletin about the sensors being bad as mentioned above. Im waiting for mine to act up again and am taking it in to get this fixed. Obviously Im going to another dealer.
