It's going to need to be torn back down and re-installed. This way you will be able to see what caused the problem and correct it. Hope this helps you out. Good luck.

How do I unstick the button on the handbrake of my vr commodore

some times the release button gets stuck in the handle, you may need to pull it apart or lube it. Does the spring feel broken? "I had a problem with the button sticking in a VR. I sprayed some silicon lube in the gap around the button, levered it back out with a screw driver and it never stuck again." last comment >

How do I unstick the button on a vr commodore handbrake

you may have to remove the handle from the car so that you can fix the problem. Probably a broken spring under the button

Stuck handbrake

You may have to disconnect the cables to the back wheels, and possibly loosen the back brake shoes.

The brake light on my dash stays on even when the emergency brake is off. THe interior light sometimes goes on when the door is opened, sometimes doesn't and the ignition light doesn't always come on

The handbrake warning light is activated by a switch on the handbrake bracket under the console. This is most likely stuck or broken.

The interior light staying off when the door opens is common. It could be that a door plunger switch is sticking (they can corrode inside), or there is poor contact at each end of the dome light globe. Take out the globe and press the contacts closer (just a bit) then push the globe back in, checking that it is firmly held. Then spray a little WD40 or similar on the plunger of each door switch and press it in a few times against the spring.

Which ignition light is not working, one of the warning lights? Or the check engine light?

Drum brake spring location

hi, the spring i think you are talking about will be the spring for the handbrake/parking return where the handbrake comes into the back of the drum there will be two holes one on either brake shoe, just below where the handbrake adjuster is fitted it is verry hard to put it in the holes but it does go eventually....hope this helps

1995 Subaru Legacy Handbrake knob broken off

It appears if you remove the pin in the lower in of the handle, you can remove the spring and then re-insert a new button. Try and get this part from a junkyard before the dealership....might be a cheap part from them or maybe they want $50 for it....either way, you should be able to replace this yourself.

BMW 320i coupe 1994,rear wheel smoke(handbrake pads stuck on???)

hi from the uk considering what you say in your post and this is a present for your g/f may i suggest for her safety that you have a qualified mechanic take a look at the cars brakes and steering/suspension components and give you an unbiased written report on the above for peace of mind also to ensure it is safe for g/f to drive considering age of car and how long it has been stood/off road ??? last time serviced etc ? there are many things to consider if vehicles are layed up for long periods such as deteriation of belts brakes and steering parts seizure as the answer you were given as to why rear brake/s were stuck ??on seems he knew this?? and maybe other problems which will be discovered if you have safety inspection/report ? and will be worth it knowing g/f is safe on highways (posing ? ) hope this helps and at the end of the day car is a good buy best wishes from uk

Cant find button for gas cap

You probably have a bad fuel door spring.

HAve someone help you; have them pull up on the fuel door release lever. Using a credit card, or something similar, insert the card at the side of the door that is closest to the rear of the car. Pull the door open with the card. When the door is open, look to see on the hinge side for a metal tab. This is the fuel door spring. If it is there, open the tab slightly. If it is not there, you can get one from a Toyota dealer for a couple of dollars; the old one snaps out, and the new one snaps in. Easy to change.
