How do I change the front bumper on the Chevy Malibu 2003

Check out this video not the same vehicle but will give you a general idea how it's done . Chevrolet Chevy Cruze Front Bumper Cover Removal And Installation 2012 2014 An it is pretty much the same as yours .

You can try going up from the bottom behind the bumper cover, otherwise you may have to get a body shop to remove the front cover to get access to the latch.

Need to replace the sensor inside the gas tank. I have a 2008 Malibu with the same problem. It was a faulty fuel gauge sensor.

The resistor is located on the left front bumper support.To access the resistor on Chevrolet and Pontiac models, loosen the left front corner of the plastic wheel well liner where it attaches to the front fascia. Saturn vehicles do not require you to remove the front wheel or wheel well liner.

If its like my 99 Chevy Lumina, its behind the front bumper, passenger side. You'll have to take the whole front bumper off. Stupid I know. But thats how Chevy made them.

The procedure is very involved.It requires the removal of the front bumper fascia fasteners from the center and side of the headlamp to be removed.

1. Remove the front bumper fascia fasteners from the center and side of the headlamp to be removed, full removal of the fascia is not necessary. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement.
2. Gently pull the fascia forward to allow clearance to remove the headlamp assembly.
3. You will also need to remove some of the fasteners at the front of the inner wheel well.
4. The Front Bumper Fascia is the plastic cover over your front bumper.
   
5. You may also have to remove the plastic cover that is located under the front of the hood over the radiator.It extends to both sides.
   

see for electriacl problem such as  1.see weather the bulb are ok or fused in deck pannel 2. see for fuses that are related to perticular system 3.like you told about the knock sensor most of them are located behind the bumper assembly, near bumper mounting chassis,bracket, the best thing for a hazard free trouble free thing you can visit the nearest authorised service station or workshop they will surely help you sir till then have happy motoring, & drive safely see you soon Sir...!

check all battery cables and check for voltage at the starter. do a spark test.
