the car runs fine after you get it going again there are not any issue with the car starting again after that but as soon as i fill up again the same thing happens.i'm baffled never had a problem like this ever.its almost like its flooded and you have to step on the gas pedal to open the butterfly valve to get air into the engine then it idles rough for 30 seconds or so then it settles down and all is fine again.i.m also trying to find a oil leak i smell it and i see a drip where it is dripping on the exhaust but i can't see the sorurce of it.

Check the engine codes with an OBD reader and re-post.
It is likely a saturated evap canister. The codes will tell us more.

Thanks!!

It may not be connected - as far as getting gas causing any malfuntion..

You need to determine if you are getting gas to the intake..

Or be sure you are getting spark to the plugs..

Need to know these things before knowing what steps to take..

    Oh my..

could be dirt or something in the tank..

    Could be the fuel pump..

    Try chaging the gas filter..

Or I would suggest filling it up and getting a fuel presure test right after fill up..

2000 subaru forester ignition coil wiring

Are there any other possible problems, or you are just not receiving spark at all now?

The coilpack could be dead and just need replaced. If you have a voltmeter or a test light, check the wiring on both sides of the coilpack harness to make sure it is receiving power.
I don't believe Subaru used ignitors past '99, but if they did, your should be located on the firewall behind the throttle body. Make sure it's plugged in and receiving power.

Coil packs do go bad from time to time. I had to replace mine in my
'98 Impreza a while back.

Goodluck!

I a 99 subaru forester that will not egage into drive too

hey, it sounds like the oil level in the gearbox, it not only lubricates but it also fills servos that change the gears and if there is low oil it will take longer to gain pressure.

My 99 Subaru Forester did not start. It turns over will not catch, it has gas. 2 weeks ago the same thing happened, the mechanic replaced the fuel pump and a 30 amp maxi fuse to the ECM circuit. This...

I also have a -99 Forester S turbo with the same problem. Runs like clockwork between failiures but all of a sudden engine turns but will not start. The workshop recomended fuelfilter replacement but I thaught it could have something to do with the immobilizer. what have you tried and ruled out?

Sunroof on my subaru forester 2001 won't open when i push the button to open the motor is working but i think the cable that guides it back to open snaped

No cable, 99% are gear-drive. Dirt, water, debris got inside. May need to take it into Subaru and have them remove/clean and reinstall. Great SUV- I'd pay to have it done, its a Subaru.

99 Subaru forester s/tb type A

You want to change from a standard transmission to an automatic transmission? You need a new transmission, clutch, gearshift, shift linkage just to start. You will be money ahead selling the car you have and buying one with an automatic.
