2005 Subaru Impreza Corner Indicator Bulb Replacement

It would appear that the headlamp assembly needs to be removed to replace the top/corner indicator bulb. The access point is behind the fender. Same problem - getting the headlight assembly out is a challenge. Pulling the wheel well liner can't possibly be the solution. Help?

This solution was not necessary - you simply have to remove the 3 bolts that hold the light in and the light will pull out enough to change the bulb. Be sure to remove the grill to access the 3rd bolt that holds the light in via a white bracket. NO NEED to pull the bumper cover off.

It is simply not necessary to remove the front bumper cover. Just be sure to remove the 3 bolts that hold the assembly in. Remove the grill to get the 3rd bolt (attached to a white bracket). The headlamp assembly can now be pulled forward enough to change the bulb.

The front bumper cover needs to come away from the headlamp, the book says to remove it entirely but you can usually pull it far enough away to remove lamp on either side, this job is easier than you think, remove grille, then remove fasteners from inside each front wheel well, than the black plastic clips that are on the bottom of the cover need to come off then gently pull forward,i guess if your this far i would replace the bulb on the otherside, why do it twice good luck

Headlamp needs replacement

I have a 2002 Impala, which should have the same headlights.
The headlight assembly is removed very easily.
There are two plastic tabs on the top of each headlamp. Pull both tabs straight up about 1 inch. The headlamp assembly will slide straight forward from the car.
Then you can remove bulb from the assembly.

I am assuming you are talking about a headlight bulb yes?

$401 for replacement?

Go and tell your dealership to take a running jump.

The only tool you will need is a flat head screwdriver.

Step 1
Switch the headlamps off and open the hood using the primary and auxiliary release latches.
Step 2
Pry loose the eight radiator fastener plugs and pull them out of their holes. Place the plugs in a small bag for safekeeping during the repair.
Step 3
Lift the radiator cover away from the vehicle. Then, pull either the top left or top right corner of the grille away from the vehicle to create enough room to remove the headlamp assembly.
Step 4
Locate the horizontal headlamp assembly pin. Pull the end of the pin up and then toward the center of the vehicle to remove it.
Step 5
Find the vertical headlamp assembly pin. Turn its end away from you until it clicks and then pull it upward.
Step 6
Remove the headlamp assembly, detach its electrical connector and remove the rubber bulb cap from the broken bulb’s socket. Then, twist the bulb counterclockwise to remove it from the socket.
Step 7
Detach the electrical connector from the old bulb and attach it to the new one. Then, screw the bulb back into its socket.
Step 8
Repeat Steps 4 through 6 in reverse and then test the new bulb to make sure it works. If it lights up, reposition the grille and replace the radiator cover along with its plugs before closing the hood.

Replace 2005 GMC Sierra Daytime Running Lights...

Open the hood, and in the top right and left corners of the primary headlamps you'll see two pins (L shaped) swing them out (towards the front of the truck) and lift out. This allows you to remove the upper headlamp assembly. You can then remove the lower assembly by pushing outwards on the plastic clip that is hooked into a metal clip. Once it's out you just turn the bulb to remove it.

It's much easier if you unhook the leads to the upper assembly's bulbes so you can set the whole thing aside.
