There is a relay that runs it under the hood and also a fuse. Check for power there. Make sure the wire harness isnt pinched.

Tip

CAR WON"T START, CHECKING YOUR FUEL PUMP

I wanted to tell you about a few ways to check your fuel pump, that can save you valuable time and money. If you think that you may having a fuel pump issue, please read this tip. When you first turn the key, your fuel pump activates and turns on. Just like most of your electrical parts on the car, the fuel pump also runs on 12 volts of power. When you first turn the key, you should be able to hear the fuel pump kick on. Now, when you do this, you want it to be quiet as possible. It is not loud, but it can easily be heard from inside the car. When your fuel pump is not working, your car will not start. The lights will come on and it will crank, but it will not start back. If you can't hear the pump, take off the gas cap and have someone else turn the key to the vehicle. Once you have help, put your ear to the fuel cap entry. You can hear the pump kick on much easier this way. If you hear it kick on, then it is working. If you don't hear it, you need to check your fuel pump fuse, relay, and reset button. Every vehicle is different and you might not have all of these equipped in your vehicle. Refer to your manual to see for fuse/relays and reset button locations. If your pump is not working, the vehicle will not start. Most fuel pumps are located in the gas tank or directly above it. In some vehicles, you can get to the fuel pump through the back seat. Other vehicles, you will have to remove the gas tank to get to your fuel pump. Once you get to your fuel pump, you should check all wires to make sure they are getting current. It is possible that you may have a bad wire or loose wire instead of a bad pump. In order to check the wires correctly, you need a voltage meter. Make sure the fuel pump is getting around 12 volts of power to it. If a mechanic did this for you, it could cost you hundreds of dollars. By checking everything yourself, it will save you time and money. Thank you for reading and best wishes.

Car will turn over but won't start. Through the

No noise from fuel pump when you turn over the car .First thing get voltage at fuel pump relay checked, is there 12 volt to the relay. If no, then problem is again the relay.--------- To reconfirm the problem, try other test, that is remove the relay and by pass the relay terminals with a jumper wire .Then with 12 volt external battery give power to fuel pump connector and see, if the fuel pump starts, then its clear that fuel pump relay is faulty.----------- Also other problem can be fuel pump inertia switch. If the inertia switch is faulty then also fuel pump will not start.-------- The fuel pump relay on a 1995 Ford Explorer is in the power distribution
box, in the engine compartment, driver's side near the firewall.----------
The fuel pump inertia switch is in the right front passenger area
it is below the dash but above the carpet in the right hand corner.--------
Its a push button type inertia switch.
--------
Fuel Pump Activation
When ignition switch is turned to START position, PCM operates fuel pump relay to provide fuel for starting engine. PCM senses engine speed and shuts off fuel pump by opening ground circuit to fuel pump relay when engine stops or engine speed drops to less than 120 RPM. When ignition switch is in ON position, EEC power relay is energized (contacts closed). Power is provided to fuel pump relay and timer in PCM. Fuel pump receives power through fuel pump relay contacts.
Inertia Fuel Shutoff (IFS) Switch
All models use an electrical interrupt switch in fuel system. During a collision or vehicle rollover, electrical contacts within inertia switch open, shutting off fuel supply to electric fuel pump. Fuel supply is interrupted even when engine is running.
A reset button is located on switch assembly. If electrical circuit trips, vehicle will not restart until switch is reset. Fuel system should be inspected before resetting switch.
IFS switch is located under instrument panel, near right side of transmission hump.
----------- If the fuel pump relay, the inertia switch and fuel pump all checked ok, and fuel pump is working with direct 12 volt source to fuel pump. Then problem relates to computer. The computer (power control module, PCM) is faulty and has to be replaced.--------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Answer FUEL PUMP SHUT-OFF SWITCH
After a collision, if the engine cranks but does not start, the fuel pump
shut-off switch may have been activated. The "Fuel Reset" indicator light
will illuminate in the instrument cluster. The shut-off switch is a device
intended to stop the electric fuel pump when your vehicle has been
involved in a substantial jolt.
1. Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
2. Check the fuel system for leaks.
3. If no fuel leak is apparent, reset the fuel pump shut-off switch by
pushing in the reset button.
4. Turn the ignition to the ON position. Pause for a few seconds and
return the key to the OFF position.
5. Make a further check for leaks in the fuel system.

Starting problem

there is a fuel pump relay under the hood in the junction box switch out the relay with the heater relay and try and start the vehicle. if it starts you know it was the relay. if it don't check the fuel cut-off switch(it's located in the trunk behind the fabric on the wheel well or under the drivers seat) push the reset button if it was tripped. if none of these is the problem check to make sure the fuse is good as well as the ecm fuse. if all these potential solutions don't pan out then your fuel pump is bad and needs replacing.....please rate this thanks
