The transmission gets cooled off with the radiator if transmission oil is getting in your radiator then the tank that is inside the radiator is cracked you need to replace it or the whole radiator and flush out the engine to get out all the trans. fluid out of the cooling system I hope this information is useful good luck

SOURCE: Adding coolant to a 1998 Jaguar XK8

if the coolant light is on or comes on when driving you MUST let the car cool down at lest 1 hour before doing anything, after this cool down time lift the hood [u.s.a.] or bonnet [uk] looking from the front of the car on the right hand side towards the back of the engine compartment is the coolant header tank, about 5inch square black in color [u.s.a.] colour [uk] with a large screw top and some rubber pipes coming from it,this should be topped up with coolant right to the neck of the screw cap when you remove the cap to top up the coolant unscrew it slowly as it may be under pressure you don't want hot 212F[u.s.a.] 100C [uk] coolant in your face do you.good luck.

Jaguar xk8 transmission problem that jerks when changing gears

if the transmission jerks this is s ign that the either the fluid is dirty which is causing the valves to stick in between changes...the module is trying to control the shifts as you drive and keep the shift adaptations...please get the transmission fluid flushed immediately! but preferably get the ****** serviced..it should be done every 25-30k miles...the flush should run 300.00 give ot take..

WE have the low level coolant indicator light on our Jaguar XK8. I purchased tow gallons of Prestone Coolant and would like to know the ratio of water to coolant in the radiator, as well as its volume....

You don't really need to flush it out. Most of the time it's a 50/50 coolant/water ratio. Check the bottles - often coolant is sold pre-diluted so you can just dump it in. If not, mix it equally with water and add it until it reaches the full mark (or the top of the radiator) and you're good.

99 jaguar transmission code p1722

This code is an indication that the transmission has excessive slippage, the code is for the input and output turbine speed sensors, based on what i know of this problem the trans has a mechanical problem, that would be low fluid pressure or worn out forward clutches, make sure the trans fluid is not low, if it is ok you will need to have the trans torn down for inspection..
